BM Battle Beastie: The Razza

The Razza

All of this talk about BM PvP pet builds and such has caused me to realize that there are other choices out there besides Spirit Beasts. 😉

During the first few months of Cataclysm, I tried out a few different pets for PvP, but ended up settling with Ghostcrawler as my go-to PvP companion. The DPS, the Spirit Mend, the stealth ability… there’s just too much awesome there for me to not want to use him. Spirit Beasts are without a doubt, one of – if not the all-around best, BM PvP pets in the game right now, but I think another reason I’m so attached to using them is because we were deprived of their usefulness for so long. Apart from the thrill of acquiring one, Spirit Beasts served no real purpose for me back in WotLK. I never raided with one… I very, very seldom would PvP with one, and I hardly ever used one when out farming or questing.

I would have liked to, but there were always better pet option for just about any aspect of play. That all changed when Spirit Strike got replaced with Spirit Mend and SB’s received Roar of Courage. All of a sudden, Spirit Beasts were the ‘it’ thing. So, after having been deprived of using one for so long, I’ve been getting my fill. 🙂

However… this past week I decided it was time that GC and I discuss the possibility of me PvP’ing with other pets now and again. I’ll still be bringing him out of the stable, but I felt it was time I started mixing things up a bit.

First on the list… a Chimaera

PvP or PvE?

This is entry #19 in the 30 days of WarCraft series of articles. Those of you familiar with the blog probably know the answer to this one. Yep… you guessed it… PvP. I do enjoy many PvE elements of WoW (e.g., raiding, hunting down rare pets, questing, etc…) but PvP has always been far and away my favorite aspect of the game. …

Coming soon to an Azeroth near you

Many thanks to Drach for helping to maintain the heartbeat around here. I apologize for the sudden post drop-off, but my time’s been devoted to much more important things as of late, so just be patient. I’ll return when I can. 🙂 — Garwulf

RexxarHey guys! We here at the Lodge just wanted to drop a note to let you know what’s happening around here! Garwulf has been dealing with some real life stuff, so apologies for no recent posts lately, but hopefully we will have some fresh articles coming in the near future.

There are a lot of new things headed our way, and we hope that you all are just as excited as we are about the upcoming patch. Seems like there are numerous things for us hunters to look forward to, in addition to some of the other fun in-game changes on the horizon.

We are currently working on updating some of our guides around the Lodge, but since the new patch is about to drop, odds are we will wait to see how much that affects what we as hunters do before we get some more guides up and going.

Master of Eye of the Storm

Well, not really… but I did get the achievement last night. 😉

Stromtrooper

Funny thing with PvP achievements – you just don’t know when you’re going to get some of them. Such was the case with Stormtrooper. When I decided I was going to try for the Battlemaster meta-achievement, Stormtrooper became one of the toughies (for me anyway) to knock down. To earn the Stormtrooper achievement, one must kill 5 enemy flag carriers in a single battle. You’re not required to land the killing blow, you just need to qualify for the honor kill. I’d reached 4 many times, but never 5.

Jadefang

Jadefang with Tiny Shale Spider Pet

Jadefang is a rare Shale Spider that spawns within an upper alcove nestled deep within the Crumbling Depths of Deepholm. As hinted at by his namesake, Jadefang possesses an awesome green glow. What’s really cool about this, is that he’s the only Shale Spider currently in-game with this look.

Well… apart from the little companion that he drops when killed.

Because of the pet loot item, Jadefang is on pretty much everyone’s radar. Whether you’re an avid collector of WoW pets or not, everyone enjoys free pet loot, right..? Since Jadefang is a unique-skinned rare spawn exotic pet, tamable by Beast Master hunters, having him also be the bearer of treasure can be viewed as sort of a cruel joke played by Blizz, with BM hunters being at the brunt of it.
