Rexxar Hey guys! We here at the Lodge just wanted to drop a note to let you know what’s happening around here! Garwulf has been dealing with some real life stuff, so apologies for no recent posts lately, but hopefully we will have some fresh articles coming in the near future.

There are a lot of new things headed our way, and we hope that you all are just as excited as we are about the upcoming patch. Seems like there are numerous things for us hunters to look forward to, in addition to some of the other fun in-game changes on the horizon.

We are currently working on updating some of our guides around the Lodge, but since the new patch is about to drop, odds are we will wait to see how much that affects what we as hunters do before we get some more guides up and going.

Trapping for Dummies

One of the awesome things about Cataclysm, is that we Hunters are being asked more and more to do something we are very good at, and have been good at for some time. But… it just hasn’t been as necessary. What I speak of is Crowd Control (CC)! You could say we’re kind of like bouncers — we only allow those we want to into the battle, and all others get iced!

CC is a very important and vital aspect of running dungeons in the new expansion. It’s also something that not many of us may be familiar with, as we were brought up in the ways of huntering during the Lich King era. Back then, trapping was something you did to bring some dinner home to the family, and had no necessity in dungeons, but that’s not the case anymore.

So I’ve managed to go my entire WoW career and never dual spec. Yea that’s right. I never saw any benefit in it really. I’ve been a BM (Bad Mofo) ever since I’ve started playing, and I have loved every minute of it. I truly never thought there was any reason for me to choose another spec.

And then Cata happens…

I’d managed to keep up my damage really well all throughout the dungeons I would run. It was not a big deal – I never really valued being the “top of the charts” DPS guy anyway. I love my pets, and am a BM at heart and always will be.

So some of you are asking, Drach, why are you going on about all this… we know you’re a Bad Mofo, what are you trying to tell us..?”

One of the many bonuses of the new expansion is new Spirit Beasts to go after! There’s nothing like a good Spirit Beast camping, so pull out your tent, grab some marshmallows for roasting, and don’t forget to bring Grandpa to tell his beloved campfire tales, ‘cause it’s time to go camping!

Before setting off you should know both of the new SB’s are level 85, so don’t be getting all excited unless you’re 85. If you are 85, then by all means let your excitement run wild! I myself happened to hit 85 mining… that’s right, not killing some epic beast, or toiling over some arduous quest, nope… mining. I about cracked up that what put me over the edge was one little Elementium node… Go mining!!!
