In the latest beta build, it seems Ghostcrawler has received a spiffy new look…
For those of you just finding out… Ghostcrawler is a new Spirit Beast that’s been discovered on the Cataclysm beta, hanging out in the southwest waters of Vash’jir.
Although his skin is that of the new Cataclysm crab model, he is a Spirit Beast, which means he’s a Ferocity pet with all of the Spirit Beast bells and whistles. His abilities are Roar of Courage (agility & strength buff), Spirit Mend (insta-heal + HoT) and Spirit Walk (prowl).
He’s level 85, so you won’t be able to tame him right away, but I imagine competition for him will be pretty stiff once hunters start reaching max level. Ghostcrawler is the only new Spirit Beast that’s been found in the beta so far.
The following screenshot was posted by Irie in the Petopia forums. It shows a recently tamed and enraged Ghostcrawler. Gotta love those glowing red eyes!
A word of caution… those of you with hunters on Shadow Council, please be aware that Rilgon will be killing GC on sight, so level quickly come December! 😀

was hoping for a raptor spirit beast but as long as the crab has some crowd control its good
Nice spirit beast, though would’ve prefured a Gorilla Spirit Beast.
A gorilla would be nice. Personally, I still think we need a flying SB – perhaps an owl or other bird of prey, with a cool trailing mist effect from its wings. 😀
@garwulf they made a owl like that in hyjal i just tamed ^_^
I’m not a big fan of the transparent pets/mounts. While I liked the GC pet the way it was, I guess it would make sense for it to look “ghost like.”
I don’t know, a spirit crab just doesn’t seem very intimidating to me. Maybe a spirit croc…hey there ya go Bliz there is an idea.
