Some quick BM PvP notes

It’s not as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, it’s actually a pretty beastly build for PvP right now – no pun intended. 😉

I still have a ways to go in terms of getting more proficient with the build and new resource system, but I see glimpses of promise. I admit, I do miss the immunity portion of big red, but the trade-offs seem to more than compensate for that loss.

And how about Spirit Beasts..?! Are they friggin’ awesome now or what..?! 😀 I am beside myself knowing that Spirit Beasts have become one of the premier PvP pets for Beast Masters. Nope… they’re not just for show anymore. Roar of Courage + Spirit Mend is incredible for PvP.

Right now, however, Devilsaurs are looking like the best BM PvP pet IMO. Reason being, Monstrous Bite (25% reduced healing debuff) seems to be currently stacking with Widow Venom (25% reduced healing debuff). o.O I expect this will be fixed any day, but enjoy it while you can. 😀

I haven’t had a chance to BG all that much since the patch, but I do have some information that could prove useful to many of you. I’ve not had many opportunities to play and/or post this past weekend, but I wanted to get at least get in a tiny update before I hit the sack.

Expect a follow-up sometime within the next 12 hours.

  1. Totally Agree, Spiritual Beast really helps in BG agility + heals awesome.

Also the devilsaur with the debuff + widow venom, really useful to take down casters and pallys.

But I think im doing wrong talents trees on my pets :S

    see ya

  2. just add this line to your shot macros “if” your using spirit beasts

/cast [target=”name of your toon”, exist] spirit mend

and your spirit beast will cast spirit mend on u every 28s cd when your shooting someone
great for pvp i reckon hehehe, i guess spirit mend will get nerfed at some point, must hunters have +60% crit chance and ability can crit, so expect a initial 5k+ heal and HOT’s for 1.5k for 10s “thats a huge heal ability”

    • Thanks for the macro! I’ll be putting that in place when I get home. A question I have for you, though, is about your crit %. I, too, had a rediculously high crit rating and reforged it all into mastery (since my crit numbers were much higher than my haste numbers on gear). Is the 60% what you have after reforging or did you reforge all your haste instead or did you not reforge yet at all? Ugh, so many questions. =P

    • Actually, I would recommend just leaving Spirit Mend on autocast, which seems to work really well. It will automatically cast on you anytime you’re injured. The macro above would waste a cast when you’re at full health.

      • I have Spirit Mend macro’d for my pet and myself.

It seems to only auto-activate once you hit 50%. That is too late in a lot of situations. Many times you’ll want to activate it right away if you’re heading into a fight at 70-80%. I also like to be able to use it on my pet itself if need be, without deselecting my current target.

    • Gah… I hate this too, and Charge seems to be totally absent, which really blows for PvP. I’ve just gone and ignored Charge for now in my pet’s builds.

This is one thing that is hampering BM in BGs. Without our pet’s speed, we can’t make full use of KC and maintain as much pressure.

  3. I have done some small BG’s since I am lvl 19 (not a twink yet).I have noticed a huge increase of Rogues being rolled due to the Sub talent tree. They get shadow dance at an early stage and that seems to be the dominating class.Their ambush packs a punch. So far I have to say BM hunters are on a roll though.Mass spam of arcane shots.Like druids and their moonfire spams.Anyways just my 2 cents on how the little BG’s are doing.
