Getting Your Tame On: Addons

A few people have been having difficulties with getting NPCScan to work, so I decided to write up a visual guide (because pictures say 1000 words) to try and help hunters get it working. In addition to that, I’ve also included some info for another great alternative to NPCScan.

Vista Users: WoW’s active Addon folder may be located in: User/Public/Games/World of Warcraft, instead of your install location. Supposedly some users have been having issues where the addons weren’t showing up because the addons in the main WoW addon directory weren’t being called up by the game – because it was using the ones in the User/Public/Games/World of Warcraft one.

Ghostcrawler

While queueing for some BGs last week, I decided to head over to Vash’jir to see if I could spot the new crustaceanal apparition variety Spirit Beast, ie: Ghostcrawler.

Now being level 85, I was kind of excited over the prospect of adding this new beastie to my stable. Oddly enough, I’ve seen very few hunters running around with Ghostcrawler since I’ve been active in Cataclysm. maybe they’re out murdering him, I dunno… 😉

At any rate, I figured that searching for him in between BGs while waiting for queues to pop was a good strategy. My days of marathon camps are very far behind me. Nowadays, if they happen to be around great… if not, well I can just come back another time.

Alright, so I portal into Vashj’ir, then hop my sea-horsey and head to the Abyssal Depths. As soon as I entered the Abandoned Reef I began tapping my rare pet target macro. Must’ve been my lucky day because lo and behold, his portrait popped up — he was there waiting for me!

Terrorpene!

Needing a break from Vashj’ir, I decided to make Mount Hyjal my home base during the past couple of days. Vashj’ir started out pretty fun, but by day three I’d had all I could take.

Day one in Vashj’ir: “Ooohhh… Aaahhh… how fun!”
Day two in Vashj’ir: “Well this has been interesting, but I’m ready to get back on land and play my hunter.”
Day three in Vashj’ir: “I swear… if I have to do one more Naga vehicle quest I’m gonna lose my mind!”
Day four in Vashj’ir: “Finally… a submarine charter out of this accursed place… Wha..?! We’re not done yet..?! I’m F**KIN OUTTA HERE!!!”

*hops Seahorse to nearest island and heads for the mainland*

I guess you could say I was in need of a change of scenery. 😉

I headed to Mount Hyjal to not only check out the zone, but to also try and track down the new hotness (no pun intended… well, not really… it was intended) as far as hunter pets are concerned. The hotness I speak of is known as:
