I’ve read all of the Celestial Steed Contest entries and have even re-read a few of them. I’ve gotta say, I’m thoroughly impressed with the thought and work that had gone into some of these submissions. It’s also been an absolute delight (yes, I just used that word) reading these. Some of them have moved me, rallied me, made me chuckle, and even flat-out laugh.
Excellent work people! 🙂 I had no idea what to expect going into this, as it was a very impulsive and whimsical plan to host this contest. I must say… the response to this exceeded my expectations. 😀
So, here’s where I’m at… Although I do intend on announcing the winner sometime this evening, I need a little more time. This is going to be a tough decision, so I need to be sure I’m making the right one. I’m going to read through the top submissions as many times as needed, until I feel like I’ve chosen the one I perceive to be the best. In other words, the one I like the most. 😉
In addition to the winner’s submission, I’d also like to publish the other stories from those participants I view to be the next runner-ups. I think it would be unjust to limit the audience to only me. Regardless of which story I personally like best, I feel a few of these should be shared with the entire hunter community here at HuntsmansLodge.com.
I’ll be contacting the winner and “honorable mentions” as I’ll refer to them, sometime tonight. I’m hoping that many, if not all of you will be willing to let me share your work with everyone who visits the site.
I want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to indulge me with your creativity. I know the thought of getting the sweet mount loot was the primary motivation, but nonetheless, receiving all of these fine stories felt like a gift to me anyway.
I hope those of you that entered had some fun with it! 🙂
Now I wanna do moar like this one! Contests are pure awesome! 😀
And I must say… I’m really liking these fantasy short stories. Maybe I should re-roll on an RP server… Hmmm…
