Conquest Point Rewards in Patch 4.3

Conquest points are going to be a lot easier to obtain in Patch 4.3. This is great news for those of us who often compete in non-rated BGs.

The daily BG is going to reward 100 Conquest Points (up from 25), and non-rated BG victories are going to grant 50 Conquest points. This is going to give casual players a way to gear up for PvP, without ‘having to’ join an arena team or rated BG group.

This move is acting on Blizzard’s mantra of encouraging players to enjoy the content how they want to, while also providing alternative ways for players to progress their toons, i.e., get geared.

I think this is great! I just wish it would have happened sooner. 😉

Official Blizzard post on this is here.

  1. I agree it’s good news, but I see there will still be disparity between better geared and lesser geared players.

I would like to see an introduction of iLvl PVP groups for those at the top level. Let battlegrounds (and arena contests) be decided by skill and not gear, I say.

    eg
    = 376

True, it may make the PvP queue time longer, but I think the trade off would be worth it.

    Cheers,
    D

  2. Good news!
Although I do enjoy arena, it can be difficult to cap every week pending you and your partners rl schedules.
However I will prob be switching to a more pvp friendly guild in 4.3 and I have not found a faster way to cap weekly Conquest AND Guild rep than arena with a guildie and tabard 😀 (always gain more rep than the raiders that way also)

  3. Well Gar, I can’t take all the credit for this….well I could but I wont.
Obviously they follow the Lodge, hence the prompt action they’ve taken so ya never know.Just an Inn? Dude we deserve a town.
The min range is great but I’m curious as to how they’re going to give us the stat boost we’re going to lose on our buff sticks. Give me an instant self heal or major nerf the classes that do and I’ll be happy. That to me is where we’re broken. I don’t mind difficult, I like difficult but when ya do everything ‘right’ against a drood , get em down to 30k hp and about to blow em sky high and they zoom back over 100hp it’s irritating. Pretty much every class has that ability aside from Hunters and that makes no sense. Nerf em. Oh no…nevermind we have Scattershot!

    • My guess is that they are going to toss higher/better stats on our ranged weapons since we are the only ones going to be able to use bows/x-bows/guns.

      • Even though loosing our stat stick is nice, I foresee a problem. With the removal of said stick goes the removal of it’s enchant as well. 130 agility loss is a bit of an ouch not to mention pyrium weapon chain to reduce disarm duration. Hopefully they will be usable with ranged weapons of maybe engineering scopes to compensate.

  4. I, for one, welcome this change for 3 reasons:

    1) There’s still some grinding involved, but it won’t be as tedious and at least players get to experience the PvP learning curve along the way.

    2) The hardcore arena-goers still have their Elite pieces, anyway, and their stats are off the charts against a regular PvP piece.

    3) While there will still be a marked difference in raw numbers (see above), the disparity between lesser-geared players and better-geared ones in a BG won’t be as high anymore.

  5. After six weeks of PvPing I post about this very issue in the joints forum and Blizzard listens. Seems we have some serious clout. Anything else we need?

    • Tell them to create a new inn in the next expansion, called… “Huntsman’s Lodge”. Right on, Agio. Thanks.

Oh, and tell them I really like what they’ve done with our minimum range, but I really don’t want to part with my melee abilities or weapons. Thanks again.

  6. I’m in agreement- this is great! It might even encourage me to PvP a bit more and find some new ways to enjoy WoW. Certainly will lead me to doing at least the daily BG, if nothing else. Sweet!
