Hello Shroudviper, welcome to the Lodge--and yeah, sometimes you run across a few sub-par players in a BG and it's quite evident from how they play. I still give it my all though.

From memory, we once ran a very chaotic WSG where I joined the battle in the middle of a heated firefight smack in the Horde flag room--while I was returning from bios. Thankfully I didn't get killed, although a paladin tried to get a few hits on me while AFK. I jumped into the fray and, after seeing who was doing the healing in the midst of all the chaos, immediately focused on the Disc Priest.

I think we must have spent all of 5 minutes in that flag room with nobody dying. Our healer (a holy pally, I believe) was doing a great job keeping everybody alive, while I was trying to kill a Disc Priest that was being supported by 2 paladins and a shaman. Our FC, who was I believe either a tauren prot pally or prot arms warr, kept holding off the two paladins BY HIMSELF while I kited the disc priest ad infinitum. Nothing like stunlocking with a shale spider to keep a healer from topping off his teammates.

Eventually our away team managed to down the enemy FC in their base, leading to a capture--at which point we died. Everybody was laughing in the GY while waiting for a rez, and I joked "hey, that was awesome...let's do it again". We won that BG 2-0.

I've also had very memorable BGs where there was a lot of impromptu hunter solidarity involved--most often a Battle for Gilneas. Three hunters would ambush unsuspecting cappers at the mines while stealthed, which led to some pretty funny kills involving warriors, priests and paladins (we would own rogues and ferals too, which was rather ironic--stealth vs. poor-man's-stealth). Even funnier was that 2 of us were BM (me with shale spider and the other guy with a spirit beast) and one of us an MM. Cue much crying in agony when 3 pets and 3 hunters would decloak and gang up on a retadin trying to cap the flag, thinking nobody's there. =D

My most memorable hunter solidarity BG was a losing Twin Peaks battle. We were behind 2-0 early in the fight when we decided to wise up and move in groups instead of acting like heroes. Eventually we were able to cap 1 flag, with 2 or 3 hunters working together to take down DKs, shamans and warlocks along with the rest of the DPS while defending the FC from all sides.

We managed to get back and defend the flag room in time when I noticed that the enemy stealthers were sneaking in to try and grab the flag. The ensuing fight saw myself, a fellow hunter and a rogue chasing down a feral who managed to grab the flag, killing her before she could exit the water tunnel.

Eventually our forward team grabbed the Alliance flag, but were having some trouble getting it back to base, allowing the enemy capping team to storm in with an Affliction warlock grabbing the flag and running off. A fellow MM hunter and myself ran after her and bursted her to death, then returned the flag to base. My partner had already swam ahead when I noticed that the lock had Soulstoned herself and was now dotting me up like a kid with a Sharpie and a piece of paper.

Much panic ensues as I was low on health from an earlier assault by an enhancement shammy, but eventually I was able to break Drain Life with an FD, silence the lock, interrupt her with my crab and burst her down before she could kill me. Most heart pounding 15 seconds of my PvP career. I survived, returned to the flag room and resumed defending long enough to cap the winning flag due to Time Over.

In the end, all 3 hunters on my team earned I'm in the Black Lodge, and the whole team earned Double Jeopardy. =D

If a Tauren Hunter and a Tauren Druid marry and have children, you will end up with BraveStarr and Thirty-Thirty.

There is one battleground that is unique in my experience but before I say what, I feel a little background info would help.

In my battlegroup (Ruin), Alterac Valley is HORRIBLE! I don't know how it is in the other Battlegroups but I shake my head in shame how it is in mine. It is essentially a sad SAD zergfest on both factions to rush the enemy base as fast as possible. And no. It's not balanced. The Alliance in my battlegroup are not afraid to bring their tanks and heals where the Horde seldomly gets them and even if we do, it's not done properly 90% of the time. It's so bad that getting The Alterac Blitz achivement is VERY hard to get as Horde.

A few months ago, I queued for a random bg and got AV. This one was different however, There was a shadow priest with a few buddies of his to halt the upcoming Alliance rush. What stood out was that this guy was loaded in PvP achivements. 250k kills, Battlemaster, Arena Master. This guy was no rookie. When someone of that level of experience talks, I listen. What resulted was a complete breath of fresh air. For the rare few times since reaching the level cap in WotLK and Cata, I was in an Old school AV battle. I was in such a happy state that I just had to send a whisper to the guy a big thank you.

I love Alterac Valley. It's a great map but I loathe what it has become in my battlegroup. During AV weekend, people say that losing is better honor/minute rather than turtle it. Honestly. What good would farming honor do for you if you ain't that willing to do what it takes to win. After all, gear can only get you so far. Skill is necessary if you want to win.

That's my story for now. Good night folks.

AV pretty much sucks where I'm at as well. Big zergfest to the bosses, 95% of the time Horde doesn't have a tank when they are able to take on the boss. The Alliance have taken to splitting off into two big teams, one makes the run to the boss and the other recaps/etc.

Tonight I'm in WSG. I'm with a Ret Pallie and Warrior guarding our flag. I'm standing across from the doorway that leads out to our (Horde) graveyard. I have a freeze trap thrown in the doorway. On my tracking I see an Alliance come up and make his way to the doorway I am watching. His pet comes charging in and gets frozen in my trap. The Hunter comes in shortly after, clearly seeing me when he comes in. He doesn't try dodging or shooting me he just comes running towards me. The instant I see him I start charging up an Aimed Shot. I'm thinking "If I was him I would be ducking behind a doorway." Well he doesn't. BLAM! He takes a full Aimed Shot to the kisser. He is already low on health when it hits him and it leaves just enough that I use a Kill Shot to finish him off.

I got a good one..

Background:

First off, this took place during the end of season 4 in BC. (BC's last season). I was playing on a bran spankin new 70 hunter with my brothers bran spankin new 70 druid. Needless to say, everyone else had nearly full season 4 epics, and we had quest items. We were playing for the experience (He was new to 2v2, but I wasn't) and the gear.. as we were in greens. Also, while hunters normally suck in arenas (Especially 2v2), they sucked extremely bad in arenas in BC (Especially 2v2). So every victory for us was a memorable fight.

So, we were fighting a rogue paladin team. Not particularly a hard team versus a hunter and druid, so we have a chance at least. Basically we had to CC spam the rogue while I slowly drained all of the paladins mana (This takes awhile, as the paladin can just cleanse viper sting). It came to the rogue being able to kill me once I managed to get the paladin OOM. Once the paladin is OOM, keeping him oom is fairly easy as I can just keep viper sting on him and he can't cleanse it. He also can't help his rogue who is getting kited. After about 2 minutes of this, I manage to kill the paladin.

Now, it is just me and the rogue. After about 3 minutes of kiting.. (A lot of running away and bandaging, I did nearly no damage versus a geared target) it is really close. He is at about 1k hp, and so am I.

*Standoff music plays*

So, I multi-shot him (At this point in time, it was used as a damage dealing ability versus one target, as well as aoe) at the same time as he uses deadly throw.

I kid you not. He died, and I had 4 hp left.

*Sunglasses*

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Twin Peaks

Both sides have the flag. The Alliance flag carrier is Warrior being defended by two Resto Shaman. Just about the whole Horde team is turtling, except three Hunters (counting myself). We decide that we are going to be the ones to get our flag back. It's a BM and two MM. I trap one Shaman, the other MM traps the Warrior and we burn the remaining Shaman down. Then we switch to the other Shaman, while keeping the Warrior trapped. Without his Shaman, the Warrior is burned down quickly. We repeat this two more times to win the match.

This was an incredible come back from the Horde. We started the match looking pretty pitiful. 75% of the team stormed the center and the Alliance split off to grab all but one tower, the remaining one being guarded by myself, a Rogue and a very awesome Holy Pallie.

After nabbing the three  towers, the Alliance rush to the center, leaving some to guard the towers. A giant battle breaks out in the center. The Horde quickly rally though and make for the towers. We quickly capture all but one tower. The team spreads out to defend the three towers we have.

The rest of the match the Horde counters all the Alliance attempts at capturing any towers and the flag.

This was not a fun match. I wish I had gotten a screen shot at the end. These Rogues were working in pairs and it was not a pretty sight.
