Got a problem for any of you tech savy people out there. First a brief explanation of the circumstances.
I currently live with my fiance and her family. I'm basically a “guest”. Me living with them wasn't something planned, but some things happend and I basically ended up moving in till my fiance and I can get a place of our own. Anyways, I was allowed to move my computer in and set it up in there basement/entertainment room. However, the main internet is set up through a desktop up stair and I have to connect to the router via a wireless connection. The problem that I am having is that their phone(s) are older models and run on the same frequency as the wireless connection. So whenever someone calls or someone makes a call it interrupts my connection and disconnects me from the internet.

You will have to either get a new router for them for Christmas, or a new set of phones. I highly suggest a new router; they are dropping in pricing recently.

Abby: It's the crappiest DSL I have ever encountered.
Niika: Changing the router means redoing all the wireless connections and stuff doesn't it? Besides my desktop, there are three laptops that run off it as well.

nope, it's plug and play for the most part. you'll have to set it up through an internet based portal, but at least you'll be off the same frequencies as the phones. Can I ask what frequencies the phones are and I can point you to a new router, if you wish. It would also get you off the microwave frequency too. Ever disco'd while making popcorn?
Basically, what is going on at your place is that you are swimming in Vash'jir. all your phone and router and microwave mobs are swimming at the same level, so they are bumping into each other and aggro'ing more problems and disconnecting. What you are doing by introducing a new router, is moving your wireless hunter into a different level, above the mobs of phone signals and microwave signals below, so that you don't aggro anything beyond a grumpy future MIL who wants you to quit gaming and come to the dinner table.
And for that, Tak, no advice. You are all on your own. :-p

It's hard to say anything after that wonderful post by niika. Hopefully soon your living situation will straighten out and you wont have to be on the second hand singel!
