If you've signed up for one of the Gawker sites (Gawker, Gizmodo, Kotaku, Lifehacker, Jezebel, io9, Jalopnik, Deadspin, and Fleshbot): chances are your email and password is now out in the open. Mine was.
Check yours here: http://www.slate.com/id/2277768/ Then go reset your password, run if you used the same email and password for WoW!

I don't belong to any of those but over the last week I have received a couple of messages from Blizzard about my account settings. After the last one I went through and changed my password just in case. I have the authenticator – really happy I went ahead and put that on my account a few months ago!

Yea, scammers are trying harder and harder these days, I have the authenticator and had to reset my password a couple of weeks ago for some reason, thanks for the warning Anj!

Luckily mine wasn't in the released database, but I'll probably be browsing jalopnik without signing in for awhile

it never occured to me to join those news sites. Avid reader, but never signed on. I still looked, however, I use a dedicated email addy for Battle.net. about the only thing i'm dedicated to signing in to is victoria secrets anyways
