So on the side of my uber hunterering ive been leveling a shammy alt due to 40 min heroic waits and ive always wanted a healer and shams are dope 
so im in sholazar and im thinkin to myself, im gunna lol so hard if i find loque. BAM. NPCscan goes off and i s!#t myself. theres loque. big daddy. i was south by the wasps and this gray blue leopard was underneath me. my hunter is MM and surv so i didnt go for him. i did spam northrend for a hunter but no luck. i did the unthinkable. Gar is gunna kill me for this but i killed poor ol loque. i had a strange urge because he was tehre and hes a rare. But i figured it was no biggy since no one is in sholazar anymore anyway so camping for him wouldnt be as bad. its sad to see taht the pioneer of epic pets is easily made a fool of now. everyone spent weeks or months for him and i killed him on an alt while questing. bad emmet bad! sooooorry
ps. no sambas yet. ive looked a bit. a guildie who has him notified me that she saw him on her sons screen but her son sold the tame for 2k before i could get there! o well. he spawned at the same time i last saw him so im leaning towards a 24hr spawn timer now.

I've been reading a lot about *definite* spawn times for rares.
There's this hunter at Wowpetopia who was able to get all the Madexx colors because s/he figured out the spawn time (same time but every other day). It might work the same for Sambas. Now that you know the spawn time, check again two days from now.
In my case, it was more of luck. I found out the rares pop-up 5 minutes after the hour. The luck part was figuring out which hour.

I was in Blood Gulch (isn't that a flight path in Twilight Highlands?) yesterday and SilverDragon pops a Samba sighting. I'm frantically clicking to target and not getting anything and it took me a few minutes to think, “Maybe it was someone's pet?” but I didn't see any other Hunters around.
I'm mad at myself for not looking around more, though I'm sure someone else got him.
I got the spirit bear in Grizzly Hills by absolute chance one day, but never seen another Spirit Beast spawn. Funniest part was that I tried the tame before I realized I wasn't in BM, had to switch specs and was frantic, expecting another Hunter to swoop in at any moment. I got him though, lol.
