Here's another interesting pet. This level 25-26 owl is non-elite, non-exotic, and uses the “ghostly green” skin. These can be found at the Ruins of Eldre'thar at Stonetalon Mountains.
If you're wishing for a bird spirit beast (and non-exotic too), this could be the closest equivalent!

Olm the Wise has been seen in the PTR. He now has a spectral skin! That should make him a spirit beast looking non-spirit beast beast.
Once the patch goes live, check your stable for his new skin — that is, if you already have him.

A long time ago, I thought the only two pets I'd be happy with are owls and cats. As a Night Elf, I used one of those Strigid Owls until I reached Darkshore. I love their flying animation.
Btw, when you first tame an Emerald Spirit, it will keep on landing on the ground! Dismissing and calling it will make it keep on flying again. I guess that's the only time they get to rest…

A long time ago, I thought the only two pets I'd be happy with are owls and cats. As a Night Elf, I used one of those Strigid Owls until I reached Darkshore. I love their flying animation.
Btw, when you first tame an Emerald Spirit, it will keep on landing on the ground! Dismissing and calling it will make it keep on flying again. I guess that's the only time they get to rest…
I like the look of it when they rest… When you are out and about sometimes the wings can get into your LOS. I kinda wish they would all land when you aren't moving.
