I recently just got Arcturis! I was so happy! Huzzah!
—Now however, I wonder if a spirit beast is effective in PvP. I do like the bleed ability ranged, and bcuz I'm a NE it's fun that my pet can stealth with me (people see me stealth they're like “oh, rogue,” BUT WHAT'S THIS? SPIRIT BEAR!!), but is there actually an advantage with having a spirit beast in BGs or arenas?
– Sticks and stones may break your bones, but harsh verbal criticism can lead to suicidal intentions! So please, for everyone's sake: chuck a rock.

That's a good question. I'm no pro, but I think I'd prefer a pet that has some slowing abilities, since being a hunter requires that you're able to stay away from the enemy lol. However, I do like the ranged bleed ability especially once you add it to the damage over time abilities the hunter can put out.
Spirit Beast's Spirit Strike + Immolation Trap + Serpent Sting… That's a nice set of DoTs, and you still have your ranged attacks and your pets melee attacks to add to the mix.
Sounds like it could be a whole lot of hell for the person you're fighting.
Then again, I don't even have an 
, lol so I could be wrong.

If by “Bleed Ability” you mean the Arcane DoTs from Spirit Strike, then yes, it does have a teensy bit of value in PvP. Having a ranged ability such as that is handy for a reasons:
– It puts your enemies into combat quicker.
– The DoTs help to prevent enemies from bandaging or stealthing.
However, there are much better pets for PvP. I'd only use Arcturis because you really love him. There are at least 12 other pets that will give you more of an advantage.
Just as with anything though, your choice is dependent upon your goals. If you just want to have fun, use the pet you like, and have others oooh and aaah over your pet, then by all means stick with Arcturis.
If you want to wreck people and be competitive, then use a Core Hound, Chimaera, Silithid or Worm.
If you really want to destroy, then leave the exotics in the stable and go MM. <img decoding="async" class="wp-smiley" src="/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif" alt="

Once in awhile I've taken my Loque'nahak into a bg or two (once in a great while), and I have a lot of fun using my devilsaur in BGs now and again. But… if you want to consistently get the most from your PvP experience, then go with a pet that has some utility.

I do enjoy people ooooohing and aaaahhhing 
but thx for the input! I think i will get either a chimera or corehound.
I'm not exactly sure how to play well with MM :/ do you think you could show me the ropes?

I'm planning on going over my PvP build and the basic mechanics of MM at some point. It's on the list.
Thing is though… it's night and day from BM. If you enjoy Beast Mastery, then I'd continue with that and try to be the best Beast Master you can be.

I saw a video once where the user had Arcturis on for BM PvP. Judicious use of Spirit Mend kept him alive against an Elemental Shaman / Rogue / Warrior trio, and later a Rogue / Paladin combo. Too bad I can't find it; I'm still searching for it at the moment but I'll be sure to post here if and when I do find it.
I want to actually test to see if a combination like Ghostcrawler or any of the Spirit cats with a Draenei's Gift of the Naaru + Jewelcrafting Statues and timely trinketing / Master's Call could help me win battles of attrition in a map like, say, AB or EotS when I'm defending a node. The crazy amounts of self-heal sounds rather interesting to say the least, though I'd be sacrificing control for “survivalfulness”. I used to be much more comfortable with a Chimaera TBH.
If a Tauren Hunter and a Tauren Druid marry and have children, you will end up with BraveStarr and Thirty-Thirty.

I'm not saying I'm a PvP pro or anything, but I do like to have a spirit beast for certain encounters…
Generally, I'll use my chimera in bgs for the awesome Froststorm Breath they have (nature damage and slow) especially where chasing a flag carrier, or keeping chasers away from my flag carrier is involved. But when I'm attacking a base trying to dislodge a flag runner from the flag, my spirit beast comes out.
According to femaledwarf, I put out the most damage by far with a spirit beast. Second is core hound and then the other pets are all around the same. Therefore when chasing flags is not the go… Alterac Valley, Arathi Basin, etc my spirit beast is let loose.
As Gar said, if you play for fun, use the pet you like, if for effect, you learn what pet to use, and when to use them from experience. Experiment. Have fun. I find having a corehound on me is intimidating, so I remember that, and use one whenever I think I can intimidate others… graveyard stalking etc…
If you want to try MM or even SV, try my pets of choice… a bat… they have 2 second stuns which are awesome help, or birds of prey; with their disarm ability there is nothing like not being hit for 10 seconds!
