ok, im leveling my hunter, 76 now, and ever since 3.1 my pet…. well… cant hold agro. when 3.1 whent live i was BM, and i started pulling of my Ferocity pet waaaayyy to often (Kurken), so, i decided to bring out my old Silithid, after i grinded it back up to my lvl, it sill could hold agro, so i whent out and tamed a good o'l bear, think a Tenacity pet would make me not pull agro so damn much. but even then, after a crit, or even an Arcane shot, i pulled of it. Cower wasnt on, and growl was, even used Intimidation, and i was in AoB. Anyways, now i've respec'd MM so i can kill everything before they get to me but… still makes me QQ when i see a Auto Shot hit (not crit) pull off my pet…
Anyone else having serious problems with this?? Or i s blizz, for some reason, out to get me. Like, does you pet hold agro durring dailies, or if you had this problem and overcame it could you gimme some tips… Might have something to do with the 1700Dps at 76… but nonetheless i blame squirrels with hacksaws

I haven't really experienced the same. Blizz maybe be after you. Blizz has something against me too, but for other reasons 🙂 I have leveled a couple of pets and it is indeed easy to pull aggro from a pet 4 levels below you attacking a mob your own level, but that is to be expected.
How long are you waiting before shooting? Make sure you have Omen installed and allow the pet to get off a couple growls to be safe. Watch Omen as you go through your shots and see how fast you creep up on taking aggro. Try and see how much threat the pet should build up so you won't overtake it. Remember that feign death is your friend as is Concurssive Shot if FD is on CD.
Also, set up a macro to cast misdirection on your pet. This method should allow you to just fire away from the start.

Then just blast the mob down.

Not to offend you or make myself sound like a complete jackhole…but have you assigned the talent points to your pets again? Also if you are dual specc'd they reset if you're a BM hunter and switch to another spec whether it's SV or MM.

ya, i made sure my pet was talented, i regard myself as one of the few competant hunters out there.. seeing as in every instance im in, i pull at least 40% of the total dps =P
anyways, i can get around the pet agro BS, so im just instance grinding for my last 2 lvls… capped 2k dps earlier today =P
