Offlineand DAMN is he hot! (pun intended)
The only thing that would make him better than he already is in his fiery goodness is if he counted as a cooking fire like Lil' Rag does! =P My stables are getting crowded with kick-a$$ looking pets. And I LOVE every one of 'em!
Fresh off watching Toy Story 3 with the kids they DEMANDED I name him DrPorkchop. Kids are funny like that sometimes. =)
Good Luck to those who are still after this sweet swine!

OfflineIt was surprisingly simple. I had read that the timing was tricky and was a bit worried. I was only crushed by the guards once on my way to the boars. HOLY HELL do the new guards hit hard! I was 3 shotted. But I rezzed and got over to the area just fine. Here's a rundown of how I did it. You will need to create the following macro: “/script PetAbandon()” Have that bad boy ready to spam.
I will try to be brief, yet detailed:
1) First I waled up the NE side of the mountain to a little shelf that ran along the mountain and allowed me to pass over the N end of the Great Gate without having to deal with a single guard.
2) The area you are headed for on the map of Mulgore is a gray area at the southernmost point on the map. It is, I believe, the Tauren starting zone.
3) There is a main road into the area on the west side or a path into the area in the middle. I went up the path. Two guards and a nearby pat CRUSHED me as I made my way into the zone. I popped Deterrence to get as far in as I could. HINT: Once you cross the guards, head left to get over by the fence/wall so that when you die you will be as far away from the guards as possible and can rez without aggroing them.
4) I met up with my nephew who had rolled a Tauren and started the quests to get to the one to set the boars on fire. We met right near where the gray area meets the green on the map. While I was riding to Mulgore, he had lit a boar on fire and timed it to find out how long till it expired and the 7 seconds that has been reported seems to be legit.
5) CHOOSE A BOAR AT A TROUGH AND STAND RIGHT ON TOP OF IT FOR THE TAME!!!! Everything I had read lead me to believe it was the boar that would be torched, but the torch is actually thrown in the trough. I first set up to tame some distance away so when I started my tame and the boar ran to me, his fire went out. Needless to say….fail!
6) My nephew had been told that once I started my tame he was to count to 3 and throw the torch ON 3, not AFTER 3. For my second attempt I went up to a boar at a trough, started my tame, he threw the torch 3 seconds in and with about 1-2 seconds left in the tame I started spamming the macro. He disappeared. I logged out then logged back in, clicked to summon the boar my pet bar showed me I had and BOOM! Fiery bacon!
7) A couple notes: He starts out as aggressive so you need to change that. Also, you need to fill his pet action bar as it is Surprisingly empty. I have dismissed and resummoned him and he still has the flame. I just need to test and see if it persists through death and if it persists through a trip to the stables.
Good luck!
