Has anyone tried to go after this guy yet? Ever since I saw this pet first appear on Petopia I knew I was going to be gunning for him the second I hit 85. Up to this point I have had little to no interest in Spirit beast but this one just really looked cool to me. So I hit 85 earlier today then headed right for abyssal depths. Once I got to his spawn area it took me 30 seconds to find him. I know its entirely possible I just got really lucky but Idk. Just the fact that he is not an elite makes me wander if his spawn time is not quite as harsh as the other Spirit beast. Not that I really care because I got him and hes awsome so I'm happy. I was just expecting people to be camping him left and right, but when I did a /who in the zone I was the only level 85 hunter there and only 1 of 3 85s in the whole zone…. at least on the horde side. So either I got really lucky, or he is no where near as rare as the other SBs, or no one on my server wants him.

Grats! So far, I haven't seen Ghostcrawler. The couple of times I was there, I only saw ghost corals… lol

Got Ghostcrawler and Terropene on consecutive nights, 3 SB now Skoll and loque and I am after the other SB of cata

I don't think its you. I think there are many servers where a couple things come into play:
1) People are still leveling to 85, the level you need to be to get the new SBs and Sambas.
2) Many other hunters are giant fuddy-duddys who don't care about cool pets. Prior to giving pets their various buffs/debuffs these same people had one pet in their stable at a time…whichever one let them do the most DPS. Those people wouldn't know “fun” if it punched them in the face!
The rule for any pet should be this: “If you got him, it's because you wanted him so enjoy him!”
And go send him in to chew someone's face off!!!!!

I am a fuddy duddy.
I have several pets but like the 4, now 5 I suppose, I keep with me. There are a few in the stable that I really enjoy but because they require me to be in BM spec to use them I never take them out. They are all Level 77 and probably will be for some time.

Lawman, you couldn't be more right! I used to see wolves and devilsaurs everywhere, and lately other hunters are starting to branch out, again, not because they think the pet is cool, simply because it will give them the best dps or buff, which I'm not pooping on, I just know most here at the Lodge are trueblood hunters and just love the pets, and thats as it should be 
, we even turned Cel to the dark side of loving that unique and rare pet (Niika, no comments please…)!
I got a beetle from Uldum, to tank as I lvl, and I love it! It's one of the color change models apparently, everytime I summon him, be it simply from dismounting, or just calling him, he's a different color! It's pretty cool actually

I've got like 3 empty slots in my stables left. I don't have any of the spirit beasts (not driven enough to camp their spawn points). Pretty much the pet that stays with me almost full time now is my hyena, Spaz. I bring out my fox, Darrt when I pvp (I love watching Rogues getting their attacks slowed down.)

I resent that some, I used Saleen solely for the longest time even when she wasn't the top DPS. (granted I gave in in the long run on it) But she was my first pet and I just didn't care to get another one, she has never failed me.
Horns and Hooves = +15 DPS

EL oh EL I do enjoy the looks of the other ones don't get me wrong. BUT they have a good purpose which is BGs!! Don't think it's all cause they are pretty. It's cause they serve a purpose!!! But yes you guys did soften me up to pet collecting as a SIDE hobby. Raiding will still be A num 1. Speaking of.. OMG GOT OUR BEHINDS HANDED to us by magmaw >< gonna go back in tonight i think.

Here's Ghostcrawler (6:05PM … seems like in our server, the rares spawn 5 minutes after the hour). The Nerfbat hurt (4664 damage/hit) and he hit me about 6 times during the tame!
