Heya Folks,
I managed to tame Ghostcrawler on Elune Server early this morning at about 2:00 AM.
Here is what I did.
I loaded NPC scan on a level 
alt that I havent been active on recently and flew him over to the Abandoned Reef where Ghostcrawler Spawns. Literally flew him over there – no quests done in that area at all – no water breathing – no sea horse. If you fly across the water to the west of Dun Moroh you can make it across before Fatigue kills you.
So there the alt was. All alone, hovering over the vast sea doing circles every so often. It was a nice image of the feeling I have had while camping other spirit beasts. 
Existential.
Get lucky / Wait till NPCscan spots Ghostcrawler. I would do at least three passes around the area each time you “check in” since I believe his “phasing” could cause you to miss him.
Woohoo hes been spotted!
Now log into your BM hunter. Dismiss pet. Confirm an open slot. Hearth to SW. Use the portal. Hop onto your sea horse and take off!
Some notes when you get there:
When I got there I couldnt find Ghostcrawler. I did 4 complete runs around spamming “/tar Ghost”.
I did a /who all in the zone thinking that someone bagged him before I got there – (0) players in the zone.
I decided to do one last loop around before hearthing out and I spotted him! He was much much smaller and harder to spot with the eye that I had anticipated and his phasing can (and will) cause you problems just in identifying whether hes even up. SO I cannot stress enough not to under estimate that his phasing can make it seem that he is not there.
Once I saw him I flew at him full speed and dismounted by hitting the tame button. The sea horse mount, it seems, is ideal here so that you can rush in before he phases out again. As you have probably read – he hits hard. I have 98k Health and did not use any buff or potions and did not use deterrance – I just hit tame – and managed to get him with about 30k left.
He's tiny. He's cool. I wish y'all good luck.
