Hi I'm a new poster here but long time user of the info for tracking those pesky spirit beasts!

I'm just so excited I wanted to share my experiences for any who are thinking of, or indeed very tired of looking for the spirit beasts. I was very near to just packing it all in. You should be able to see the date and the time from the screenies. I don't know what its like on other servers at certain times of day but I've found mine is the best bet for rare-spotting in the morning. The sensible morning, not the silly hours morning.

First tame of mine was Arcturius. I had logged out over his spot after a break from Loque-camping. When I logged back in my npc scan went off and there he was! How unexpected. V. lucky me



A couple of days later, back on the search for Loque and Aotona pops up. No screenies of the tame but he was east of the Mosslight Pillar.

More days later of circling the basin for hours didn't produce any results. I'd lost count of the days and hours I spent just flying around and was starting to think that Loque was fictional. I'd been spending most of the day there from lunchtime onwards and when I don't have work the next day I was there till the small hours of the morning. I was starting to drive myself (and my partner) mad!

Decided on a tactic change and set the alarm nice and early. Logged in over Sholazar Basin at 08.20am and started scouting the south spawn points as usual. I wasn't too optimistic and lazily flew over to the northmost spawnpoint (which I usually ignore) and my npcscan went off. I stared in shock at the name on my screen!

I was very excited! Even rung the partner to gibber insanely at him. He thought this meant the crazy camping would be over..hah!

Decided to do a victory loop over Storm Peaks to find Skoll, and whadd'ya know?

Obviously the only logical thing to do now would be to quickly look for Gondria…



Gondria was just below Zim'Torga, I didn't notice it was obscured.

I got very very lucky today. And I hope this inspires people to keep trying, I'd told myself this would be the last day I spent hours flying around Northrend (like so many others) and then it all happened at once! They do exist. Don't lose hope! At this time of day during the week  people are at work or in bed. There was one other person in Sholazar Basin. That was it though. Storm Peaks and Zul'drak were completely empty. It was weird.
