Blizzard's now selling a mount. $25 but you get to queue for it — at one point I was at 95000th place.
My thoughts? I cancelled and did not buy it. Buying it would mean losing the invested blood, sweat, tears, and thrills-and-chills of getting your very own — Time-Lost Proto-Drake, the engineer mounts, the war mounts… Buying the mount negates these mounts into “normal” ones. Where will it stop? Will we see a $100 Blue Ashes of Alar, or 100-mount realm only ones, or even $50 flight speed upgrades?
I'm on strike and currently using the Swift Frostsaber and Swift Red Gryphon.

Well… this mount is kind of like having a Spirit Beast. It's really cool and provokes ooohs and aaahs from people when they see it. However, due to the ease of obtaining it, I imagine the prestige will become less and less as more people are seen with them.
Anj, you have a TLPD which is like one of the coolest non-achievement mounts there is. I'd forego your strike and just ride that baby everywhere. I highly doubt that any hard to obtain in-game mounts will ever be offered for sale in Blizz's store, but then again I may be underestimating their opportunistic ways.
If you like the Celestial Steed, I say buy it. If you decide not to, well you can rest assured your TLPD will probably be even more of a trophy once the Blizzstore mount novelty wears off. I guess the one thing we don't know, is if this mount will be limited or not – and if so, how limited.
Personally, I think the mount is awesome. I'm not sure I'll buy one, but I am thinking of buying one or two for some sort of exciting giveaway here on the site.
Now to think up a promotion…
The Lil' XT is pretty nifty too I might add. Lots of cool emotes for a pet, that's for sure. He's not quite as prestigioous as my Grunty, but still a nice pet.

Gar, I've calmed down a bit. Some of my guildies have bought the mount. I saw how happy they were first-hand so I understand things more now. You are correct, it is like obtaining a Spirit Beast. I've also changed my mount set now it's back to the Winterspring Frostsaber and TLPD. (I forgot how terrible it was to grind for that Frostsaber! haha).
So … what's your promo?

I admit I bought the Steed, And I really don't mind. Even tho my mains do not use it, it is way nice for all my alts. And for the new bear tank I started on a far away server its even better, she *has* a ton of gold for her level (farmed raptor pets with a DK to sell) But still its nice to have something special that a lvl 27 wouldn't normally have. You are right tho about more to come I believe, altho I don't think that blizzard would ever tag a mount for 100$ or for that matter a speed increase. I do tho, see more mounts coming only cause the celestial steed was such a good money maker. And just maybe this time, you boys will get your more “manly” mount! xD That's at least what I hear the main problem with my guy friends is, lol.

Yeah, I've no doubt Blizz will be offering more mounts for sale. The reaction to this one was overwhelming, so I'm sure they're thinking “cha-ching”!
With all of the money they make from name changes, realm transfers, and now the Blizzard store, it sure would be nice if they did away with the subscription at some point.
