Well.. where do I begin? I've been farming Aotona for about threee months now.. know the route by heart, the reason I want it is because no one has it ^^ makes it that bit more special In my opinion. Well i came back from the club very early in the morning.. diden't fancy sleeping so I though I'll make a quick route for Aotona, well as soon as I got to the oracle camp and just entered Wildgrowth, she came up on teh rader! so i quickly flew their and was half way threw taming.. then some paladin comes along and kills it infront of me.. when i asked he said .. and quote *I wanted the acheivment* EVEN THOUGH i ALREADY TAGGED it.. what a waste

Ouch! So sorry to hear that Numfluff.
The trick to getting Aotona is make sure you have a stable full of all your favorite pets. Next, make sure you have your most prized pet with you when you venture through Sholazar Basin. This always works for me. 
I too have looked for Aotona at various times over the past few months. Not once has this bird ever shown its face when I'm looking to tame it. However, whenever I have a full stable that I'm happy with, full of level 
pets, Aotona is always there when I hit the basin. It's always usually just after I worked my balls off leveling a new PvP pet to .
I've killed that bird about 5 times. Always in the same location too. SW of River's Heart.

Today i logged on 6.52 server time and I found it!! at 41.68
When i found i was just ike *:O..* so i landed near her then i tried to open called stabled pet, then some mob attacked me and cancelled it lol.. so i tried to call pet but my pet was dead lol so i had to ress then abandon. but I caught Aotona no problem after that ^^..best hunt yet.
REALLY worth the hunt if your trying to tame her, if possible try and search for her early in the morning when less people are around. Shes really unique in looks and even sounds ^^ gl
