OfflineCogsprocket, Jubei'Thos. 85.
It was a strange twist of fate that led me to a patch of verdant grassland in Northrend.
A few days earlier, I had accumulated a little over 3500 Honor Points, and was fit to spend them. I was after either a range weapon to replace my PVE bow, or the Season 9 pike to replace my 346 polearm. Well, I proudly strode into the Hall of Champions and approached the Vendor.
“Ah, Cogsprocket!” says he, “I see you have the Honor, but not the accumulated points! Too bad, so sad! Next!”
Apparently, at that stage, I needed to have accumulated 7250 honor points within the season to buy either of the weapons I desired. Dejected, I instead invested in Vicious armour. Not a bad second prize, I suppose.
I read somewhere that at Dalaran honor wares are available from the Arena Vendor. So I made my way to Dalaran to have a look. And there, sure enough the Vendor was offering the same weapons with no points accumulation condition. And there I stood, in brand new armour and no Honor Points. Such is life.
I took to the battlegrounds to earn more Honor Points. What else was I to do? I had accumulated 1649 points a couple of days later when I made my way to a mailbox. There sat a letter from Blizzard. It seems I had purchased an item that was meant to no longer be available, and 4000 Honor Points as compensation were in my kitty. Please spend promptly, they asked me, and I would earn no more Honor Points while I had over 4000 HP.
It didn't take me long to get back to Dalaran and I duly purchased my new pike, and a new chestpiece.
While I was in Northrend, I thought I'd cruise around the known haunts of the various Spirit Beasts. Into the white mountains I flew, around and around where Skoll is known to haunt. No Skoll. So I flew down to Grizzly Hills. I flew to where Arcturis' spawn point, but no spirit bear. I flew in a wide circle, and was making my way back to the keep and down below me was a glistening sign of movement. I couldn't believe my eyes. There he was! After all the camping I'd done for him, without narry a whisper of his spawning, and now here he was.
Down I swooped. I laid a trap and he just walked into it. I guess he was ready for me. Arcturis is mine!
Or am I Arcturis'?
