I am tired of constantly waffling between arcane/no arcane, glyph changes, and watching my armor. I just want to play. I am also tired of SV hunters smoking my ass if I forget the wrong bracers. I am wicked bummed about this for some silly reason, but I think I am going back SV from Agi MM. Any guidance, recommendations, or anything, greatly appreciated. I really like the mechanics of Marksman, and the feel, but am tired of my huge variations in DPS and overall damage. I like consistency, consistency is good.

Don't be upset. If SV is what you like, then stick with it. I don't play MM because it's the top raid dps right now, I play it because I enjoy the spec. If you feel that way about SV, then by all means play SV.

I *really * enjoy the spec, Tak, that's what I am so wicked bummed about. I love the way you have to watch which procs first, etc. It's just disheartening to me that I can do 8-9K one week, and then 5-6K the next, just because of a couple of gear changes. It is frustrating, and I feel really stupid about it. SV is the least of my favorites, but I can dps it in my sleep. I am just whining, that's all.

Sorry to hear you are so frustrated Niika! It's a little funny tho because in icc last night a guildie was going on and on (in whispers DURING fights, btw, very annoying) about how if I were SV with my gear i'd be pulling 12k dps no problem! I explained to him over and over that I ENJOY MM and I have no intentions of changing. Yes I enjoy kicking butt on he dps chart, but at the end of the day MM is what I LOVE to play. I find it to be a nice medium of difficulty.. not too hard like my stupid shammy that I refuse to play… not too easy like a 2 button mage (lol – thats a crack at my husband, not all mages!). It comes down to what you enjoy. If gear is an issue, definitely try the in-game equipment manager, it takes all the work out of remembering gear (if you have the bag space to always have all your gear with you!).

Pfft, our SV hunter does not pull 12K, what are they on? Sheesh, sounds like you are doing fine. And on a good night (aka: Kids are Entertained) I used to usually top over the better geared hunters in a few of the fights. I guess what I am doing is just whining since i WANT to be better, but hell, who doesn't?
Long story short, I did not change last night. I did fine. I am the lowest geared of three hunters, and I am usually lowest dps at the end of the night of the three of us. However, I am now cracking top 10 routinely, both damage and dps, and do really enjoy marksman. I use the equipment manager frequently (am on an rp server, that thing is a godsend) but it's my gear that I had to raid in that was the problem. I'm pretty type-A-OCD about my gear, and when something doesn't jive, it's like sliding down a razor blade banister to me. EWWWWW!!!! (talk about a flashback to childhood nightmare!)
New cloak, shoulders, and picked up a t10 helm, going to TRY to cut myself some slack before the mentally debilitating Monday Night progression run.
gah.
