I was curious last night, to see what spec was being used by the leading hunters on my server. i found this site called wowrankings or something like that. Anyway I found 3 hunters on the first page with 2 in the top 20. All three hunters were Survival Spec.
Now, what was interesting, is that their specs were so different. In order of ranking…
a. 0/9/32
b. 2/7/31
c. 1/8/31
The main points two who speced into BM had differing choices: b had 2 points in Hunters Mark and c had 1 point in Pet Focus Regen.
All 3 had the same prime glyphs, being Serpent Sting, Kill Shot and Explosive Shot, but they had varying Major glyphs. I can't remembr now who had what, but I thought it was interesting that such highly geared players had such different pecs and glyphs. An interesting observation.
Now the ranking itself is based upon gear score, so it probably has little relevence to play style or skill, but I thought it interesting to see what the leading hunters were doing.

A lot of people adjust builds based upon the content they regularly experience or the group they run with. Although, gearscore is not the best way to judge a player. I run with two hunters on a daily basis. One has an ilevel of 345 and the other is at 339. The 339 is, IMO, much more valuable because he is a fantastic at CC and other utility moves such as misdirect.
