With dual specs now available what combo is best in peoples opinions, BM + MM, BM + SV, or MM + SV?

(I've only got MM at this stage and am wondering about re-specking)

Currently my priority is raiding and gearing up.

Thoughts on this?

What spec do you like best, and what else is there that you like to do outside of raiding?

I'm currently specced BM for arena & BGs, and MM for raiding. While BM is my favorite spec to play, I enjoy MM for raids due to the improved DPS it provides over BM.

Whenever I'm not raiding I use my BM spec. It is great for PvP and pretty much rules for everything else as well.

If you like to PvP, any of the three specs will do fine for an offspec. For hammering out dailies and for farming, BM is probably your best option.

Best thing to do is just mess around with all the specs and see which ones work the best for you.  It all depends on which one you are most comfortable with, respec SV and try it out for a week look into shot rotations and different things do the same for BM but give it a week or so to get the hang of it.  A new spec might put you out of your comfort zone a little bit that's why I say give it a week to try out.

Cheers for advice and opinions guys, it is hard to tell what spec to go with until you try it out. i guess I'm putting feelers out to get a heads up on the specs before taking the plunge Wink

To all other hunters out there reading this -

what made you go witht the spec you chose?

and what do you love most about your spec tree?

Also BIG thanks to you Garwulf Laugh, those talent tree over views are wonderful, really gives a good over view and makes you think about your aims more. - Also makes me look forward to lunch breaks at work so i can get the next handy hints icon_wink

I chose BM because for me it's the spec that best suits that class, one of the best things about being a hunter is you get to choose your pet name it and raise it.  Hunters stalk their pray for hours on end tracking, searching, camping....and then you see the animal you've been looking for your heartbeat goes through the roof and you get the tame...it's a hell of a rush.  Plus once you learn the advantages of the different pet trees and the extra things your pets get as a BM Hunter they can be pretty ridiculous.  Soloing is no problem..plus as a BM hunter if you have a medallion of the alliance or any any medallion that stops fear...you can pretty much own any class that uses fear (Beastial Wrath is a hell of thing).  Great class for PvP..as long as you know how to dance you have pretty good odds against anything with the exception of Ret Pallys..I haven't figured out how to down those guys yet...DK's I sit back and let my pet wear them out while I shoot and trap away.

I chose MM as a raid spec because it has an awesome shot selection and a pretty easy rotation, and you got to love the Attack Power buff.  My dps went through the roof as a MM Hunter I topped a 25 Naxx run with a very well geared group and I was sporting 2 pieces of T7 and some rep gear.  It was a spec that I was immediately comfortable with.

Hope this helps and that I didn't ramble on for too long.

Myself I got Survival + Survival, both for main-spec and off-spec (PvE & PvP) because I found it the most enjoyable way of playing in raids with good performance etc, but I'm also Survival in PvP (Arena) because that fits my 2v2 and 3v3 combo best due to the good CC and movement impairing effects combined with good nuke.

But since you didn't say anything about arena and pvp in general I'd say MM + BM if you are keeping MM as your main raid spec. And BM is very neat for overall farming/questing if you tend to do that commonly, some AoE grinding is very benefitial with a decent pet.
