Can someone explain to me, how to benefit from Improved tracking for the 5% additional damage bonus. Does the tracking need to be selected for that specific mob, or is it always on as a passive ability, or does it automatically track once Hunters Mark is used?

If it is a selected item, is their an add-on that will auto select the type of mob you are fighting? Because sometimes, I have no idea what to select for certain mob types.

As long as the mob you are attacking is of a type that you can track, and you have one of the hunter tracking abilities up(doesn't matter which one, as long as you have one up) the effect of Improved Tracking is activated.
