Hi all fellow Hunters! Just came across this site and hope you guys help me with a similar problem as the above.
I have a MM hunter which has been very lucky in the past weeks to aquire 200+ gear stuff. Levelled so fast i am blinded what to gem/enchant for. Recently i was invited to several ICC runs in which i top DPS on AOE but went near 5th on single mobs. I know my Hit is too high due to trinklet and gear stats, but also questioning if i did the right thing to gem & enchant AP to the max. Read alot of discussions on AP or AG as 1AG = 1AP ?! Anyways here is a link to my toon, please advise what to do in order to increase single target DPS. Also a talent spec MM rotation advice is very welcome. That stamina gem makes every MM hunter cry. Don't gem stamina.
Those attackpower gems are great and all, but agility gives you 2 attack power, and crit. The only time you gem for attackpower is when your beastmastery. That 10crit makes baby boomkins cry also. Besides that you look fine, at one point in MM you want to gem for ArPen, and ill end with that.

For the most part, yes.
Your shot priority isn't optimal though so you need to change it. The shot priority you want to follow is:
Kill Shot (when available)
Serpent Sting
Chimera Shot
Aimed Shot
Arcane Shot
Silencing Shot
Steady Shot
Rinse and Repeat, except for reapplying Serpent Sting since Chimera Shot refreshes it. Once you get in the neighborhood of 400 passive Armor Penetration rating then you can ignore Arcane Shot entirely unless it's a movement heavy fight and you need another instant cast shot.
With all this being said I just got a look at your Armory and well … there is a few things I would change in terms of gear. Unfortunately I do not have the time to write as detailed a post as I normally would so I am going to have to come back to this thread a little later on.

I agree with what was said above, although i would say gem for Armor pen, as MM hunters need a lot of it, and gear gives you quite a bit of agi. Other than that, with your gear i wouldnt expect higher than a close 3rd in ICC on single mobs, the 1st in AoE is simply because of MM's boost to volley. If you are really concerned, link your armory and we'll take a look at your spec, see if there is anything there that is out of order.

Actually no, you don't need to gem for Armor Pen (ArP) to be an MM hunter or to play the spec effectively; Frostheim goes into quite a bit of detail on that in this post (http://www.warcrafthuntersunio…..s-agility/).

Thx for the above, pls confirm i need to change to AG Gems, quite a costly job 
Only to aquire the extra % crit ? All AG gems are +20AG and the AP i have fitted are +40AP. So AP wise nothing will change only extra crit ??

Agility is still 1 attack power, however it's still better than raw AP.

I would suggest regemming only your ilvl 245+ pieces. The other gear you're probably going to be upgrading over the next few weeks, so don't waste the G.
Your gemming has some room for improvement, but at least it's not horribly wrong.
What you're eventually going to want is:
Red: 20 Agility
Yellow: 10 Agility / 10 Crit
Blue: Nightmare's Tear in one socket w/ the rest all 20 Agility
Once you start getting more ilvl 251-264 gear w/ armor pen on it, you'll eventually start looking at gemmng for 20 armor pen in place of those 20 Agility gems. You're a ways off right now from that being a benefit, so just stick with agility for awhile.
Agility provides both AP and Crit, plus it scales better with raid buffs, which is why it's such a valuable stat. Raw stats such as AP and Crit do not scale as well with buffs. You need to get your crit up, and agility will definitely help out in that department. MM needs a lot of crit to get the DPS flowing.
Another thing… once you reach ~450 or so Armor Pen, you can drop Arcane Shot from your regular priority, using it only during movement heavy encounters. Then, take the points from IAS and drop them into IHM (1/3), ISS, and MfD.

OK, i just re-gemmed all +40AP to +20AG
Before;
5563 AP (Ranged)
901.3dps (Ranged)
39.44% crit (Ranged)
Now;
5394 AP (Ranged)
885.2dps (Ranged)
41.57% crit (Ranged)
Dont know if that 2% was worth the gold in dps tbh, will run some HC`s to see result

Gemming Agi over AP is better since Agi scales a lot better with raid buffs (Buffs such as Greater Blessing of Kings and Improved Mark of the Wild) than AP does, which benefits your damage and dps more in the long run.

Thanks for the help so far guys! Getting consistently 3rd place ICC10 which is a start from where i came Only Warlock very close with me and a fury warrior 1K ahead which i want to close in to for personal issues Yesterday a Staff dropped for me giving me again extra Hit wich nears 600 now :S Seems to keep following me. Got 2 trinklets giving me hit aswell but their active stats giving me a nice boost in dps, any reccommodations for a lower trinklet?

Wolf as pet has indeed improved my dps due to its Howl and i macroed “Call of the Wild” with “Rapid Fire” which boosts AP and Speed for another 20Secs. This is a nice combo when trinklets are on CD.
Also did following macro`s
Chimera + Silence
Killshot + Killcommand
Explosive + Snake trap
Any more suggestions for this MM Hunter`s DPS increase is very welcome in order to have Hunter on top Recount

In regards to your macros, I have a few suggestions…
You should macro Silencing Shot and Kill Command with Chimera, Steady and Kill Shot. You want Silencing Shot and KC to go off as soon, and as often as possible.
I wouldn't advise the use of a Snake Trap / Explosive Trap macro. Snakes are practically worthless outside of caster interrupts in PvP, plus it requires another GCD. You're much better off dropping a single Explosive Trap, followed by an immediate Volley. If either trap was off the GCD, then it'd be a good idea. However, they're not, so the macro is not really practical.
Other than that, just…
- remember to refresh your Serpent Sting once all of your procs are going.
- keep trying to stack buffs with cooldowns.
- use your second Readiness right as (or just before) Kill Shot becomes available. Rapid Fire – Kill Shot – Readiness – Kill Shot – Chimera – Aimed – Rapid Fire.
