so if you havent guessed by reading my post about hunter pets i'm a hardocre beast hunter, i have marksman as offspec but i never get the same enjoyment out of my hunter playing it, so i need help with the reforging and stuff like it, before the patch i was just touching 3.6k DPS enough for heroics and some random raid if they wanted me to pug, but now i am just touching 1.9k DPS if i am lucky the mobs die before i even get a steady shot in to regenerate my focus…

does anyone who also plays beast know what i should be reforging my gear with, what sockets to use etc, help or tips would be nice and greatly appreciated.
i know the gear i have isnt the best, but i just do randoms and stuff, i dont consider myself a huge raider

I’m kind of in the same boat. I’m considering regemming/reforging to agility as that seems the better stat for us now. That’s my thought, plus getting used to the new rotation of shots which Gar has helped us out with. I’m curious to see what others think too.

Here's what I recommend…
Drop Efficiency from your build and go for either 3/3 Pathing or 1/3 Pathing & 2/2 Improved Serpent Sting. Pathing helps to get your Steady Shot cast time down and helps a tiny bit w/ focus regen. Imp SerpS will add some additional DPS to your SerpS. If you're good with keeping your sting up, then I'd go with the latter choice.
Gem for agility in your red slots, 10 agility/10 crit in your yellows, and throw a 20 hit or 10 hit/10 agility in your blue slot. Nightmare Tears are no longer viable since Int is no longer a valuable stat for us.
Reforge all of your hit to mastery. You're 108 points over the hit cap, so trade some of those points in for mastery.
Reforge the Expertise on your rings into Mastery. Expertise does nothing for hunters, so trade it for a good stat like Mastery. 
After that, just start reforging any gear with haste in favor of Mastery as well.
That should help a little.
