Started to do WG a while back, do ok until a mob descends on me, ( I die a lot ) also tried the BGs, but I suck at them apart from WsG where traps are my main weapon (hide in silverwing).

So Guys, need some help to show me what and where I'm going wrong.

Thanks for stopping by. I can definitely help you out.

Based on your armory, I can't really tell where you're going with either spec. My guess is that your BM spec was your primary leveling build and perhaps your current build for questing, etc. Your Marksmanship spec looks like something you may be trying to use for PvP..?

I have a few posts I'd like for you to read, but before that, let's go over a few fundamentals…

These are the stats you want:

• Hit Rating (until you are capped)
• Agility
• Attack Power
• Crit
• Armor Penetration
• Haste
• Intellect
• Stamina

These are stats you don't want:

• Strength
• Spell Power
• Defense
• Mp5
• Armor

There are other stats that you should stay away from, but those are the no-no stats I see present on your gear. Also, you should always put a 40crit scope on your gun or bow. Never go with a haste enchant on anything, at least not until Cataclysm. <img decoding="async" class="wp-smiley" src="/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif" alt="” /> Haste is useful for hunters, but only to a point. It is also the least important of the DPS stats.

Hit Rating

Hit rating is the single most important stat until you are capped at either 5% for PvP or 8% for PvE. Without talents or buffs, it requires 263 hit rating to be at the PvE hit cap and 165 hit rating for PvP.

You have 25 hit rating. <img decoding="async" class="wp-smiley" src="/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif" alt="” /> This needs to be remedied asap. This is especially ghastly for PvP, where every shot counts and you're having to face opponents that have hit reducing talents, or a higher chance of being missed due to racials, etc.

Get properly itemized gear

You are wearing 3 pieces of gear that do not belong on a hunter. Your 2h belongs with a DK, Ret, or Warrior, your cloak belongs on a caster, and one of your trinkets is for tanking. You're losing a ton of DPS by not having proper items equipped in those slots.

Pets

The only level pet I see in your stable is a wolf. This is great for PvE, but you don't have a viable option for PvP. Go get yourself a Necrotic Webspinner from Icecrown if you plan on continuing to PvP as MM. If you want to PvP as BM, then level that Core Hound up, or go get yourself one of the other recommended BM PvP Pets:

I haven't written a guide yet on MM PvP, but fortuantely for you, that's what spec I am at the moment.

The pet I use for PvP is a Ravager.

Another couple of quick tips:

Make sure all of your gear is enchanted and gemmed. If you can't afford the best, then no worries, but at least stick some useful stats on wherever you can.

SV and MM want agility

BM wants AP

Go with straight agility (or attack power) gems in all of your red sockets.

For yellow sockets: hit, hit/agility, crit/agility – whichever is needed.

Blue sockets: get one Nightmare Tear (+10 to all stats), then go with either straight ap or agility, thus ignoring the socket bonus (for PvE), or stam/agility (PvP).

Relentless Earthsiege Diamond is thee meta gem for hunters.

Put an eternal buckle on your belt and socket a red gem in it.

If you think you may want to flip-flop specs, then go agility all the way. AP is a bit better for BM, but agility won't penalize it much at all.

My suggestions for builds:

Go with SV for dungeons and raids, and BM for PvP. This combination of specs will probably ensure that you do well in both aspect of play, while also enjoying yourself.

Oh… and as for Krush… good luck! Solo taming him is quite a feat, especially since the BW nerf. Good luck if you choose to pursue him.

Personally, I'd suggest a Spirit Beast however. They're a little easier to manage one on one.

Got that Necrotic Webspinner from Icecrown, LvL 79.

First time out with new spec in WG was 3 best damage dealer in our raid group behind another Hunter and a Paladin.
