Ok guys, Firstly thanks again for the great site![]()
I spent an hour typing this post yesterday then lost it, so this one is gonna be brief in case i lose it again
My situation.
I have work and a family which limits my game time to virtually just raiding (and just enough time to do enough dailies to buy arrows) So any advice you give please dont let it involve large chunks of gold ![]()
My guild is a strict 10 man guild which gets regulated by guildox.com so any gear you recommend cant be ICC 25 or TOTGC 25 as running these would lose our “strict” status.
My question,
Having read the forums at hunters union, tka something, outdps, here (of course) and even elitist jerks there appears to be a differing opinion of when to switch from SV to MM, Some say 400 ARP some say 6-700 ARP.
Many forums say that on movement intensive fights (which i admit i am not great at) SV is much more forgiving.
The spreadsheet and Female dwarf say switching would only net me an extra 30 dps or so (in an ideal situation, which is something i rarely find myself in)
Can I ask the experts here what they would do for optimum dps at my gear level?

Thanks for any advice you can give guys
The only way to really know is to try it. My guess is that you're still going to pull more DPS as SV, especially since you raid only 10 mans. SV is less dependent upon buffs and debuffs, plus it's more mana efficient.
A switch to MM at this point would be primarily based upon preference.
I still raid as SV w/ a 5.85k+ GearScore. I can count on one finger how many times I've been out DPS'd by other hunters over the past several months. He was MM, but his gearscore was 200 above mine and he was armor pen capped.
Spreadsheets are nice for researching gems, enchants, builds and such… but until you respec and reglyph you won't truly know what's going to work for you.
My advice for you would be to:
- Put 26 agility on your 1h as you mentioned you were going to do.
- Drop one point from Expose Weakness and put it into Hunting Party. Your unbuffed crit is pushing 58%, so you can easily get away w/ one point in EW. That additional 1% agility will help you squeeze out a couple more deeps.
- Drop the Explosive Shot glyph for Steady Shot. Your Explosive Shot crit is going to be insanely high once raid buffed, along with Master Tactician up.
In fact, if you make those changes to your build and glyphs, I believe your build will be identical to mine. <img decoding="async" class="wp-smiley" src="/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif" alt="
