Yo, a ret. pally and myself have been running 2v2 skirmishes quite often for the past 2 weeks trying to practice so that we could try and get a good arena rating. We assumed we wouldn't be all that amazing yet only working with pvp epics. The problem is though, WE SUCK! Out of probably 200 fights, we might have won 4 with 3 of those having only 1 person on the other team. We have been trying to work out strategies on who to go for first, what to do when "X" occurs, and how to be a better team. He and I are both quite frustrated with it. We both know it takes time to get good at things and we both assume we are coming up against people with very high gear and ratings, even in skirmishes. We aren't looking for an easy ride, but we were assuming some curve of competency by the 200th match. But I just wanted to toss it out here for any hunter. What strategy do we have? I know typically I'm the one that gets attacked first by the pesky little rogue or the stun crazed pally. I think I hold my own well, but what do you guys think? Any other questions on this forum would be welcome as I may be able to add some to the convo too, but I figure why try to go it alone when you have access to a group of experts.
I typically roll bm, but i have tried marks. I've tried my wolf (with marks)=not so hot. I've tried my devilsaur, not so hot. Then I got me a spider and he is only lvl 75 and he has been the most effective due to the web ground thingy.

This combo is only really successful if you and your teammate can sync your burst, as well as time your CCs. Pally stuns are a great way to set up a chain CC with a Freezing Arrow. It's also really important that your Pally know when to bubble and/or heal you. Hunters are usually the first to get trained, so keeping you alive is going to be a top priority.
BM works well with this spec, since the Pally can use HoF on himself, giving you guys a long window of un-CCable pew-pew.
For healer/dps teams, the DPS target is usually the priority. Most teams have a hard time keeping up with the heals when that much burst is being thrown down. A well timed CC on the healer and it's GG.
Double DPS teams are usually harder to deal with, but I recommend going for the cloth target first, especially the Mage. Never allow a ranged attacker to sit back and free cast. Sometimes you'll find that splitting DPS on certain teams works well, such as Rogue/Lock.
Since this is an usual combo and a glass cannon one at that, best bet is to come out aggressive and not allow the other team to form a plan or allow a stealthed opponent to get set up. Run out and punch them in the mouth so to speak. Keep a flare up at all times in the event you're facing stealthed opponents, and always give your Pally a Volley cover when he's advancing out past you.
Beyond that, just keep queueing and get used to one another. To be successful it requires some communication, but eventually you'll know each other's tendencies and you'll start to develop a chemistry.
I'm by no means an expert on arena, but those are just a few tips I've learned along the way.
What i do with my brother (ret paladin) is just overnuke the dps meanwhile he stuns or repentence the healer when the dps is on 30-50%
Or if the healer is shaman we nuke shaman till 50% hammer of justice and overnuke
If the healer is priest we nuke the dps without bestial wrath till he get pain suppresion (or what eva ) and switch to priest to nuke our ass off .
With paladin just try to nuke dps instead
With druid healer we first see how fast druids reactions ar with overnuking on dps if we so not fast jsut contineu nuking on the dps .
but if the druid is to fast in overhealing we just switch when 30-50% hammer of justice and overnuke .

When pvping with my hunter I do find survival being nice. Freeze trap one to make them trinket out. (The object usually is who keeps their trinkets, CD's longer.) Then when or if they pop out, Wyvern string one. Always viper string the healer, and if its needed use your snakes. Your just going to have to wing it, try this spec though. http://www.wowhead.com/?talent.....scIzxhVMoz Seems like an odd spec, but try it.
