Im on the Malorne Server as you all already know. It's the same battlegroup as garwulf's, Yes, i've fought alongside him when i was alliance.(my name was BowBandit or Darkrichard back then)
First off, i'd like to say im running the garui and added some minor things here and there to make it feel somewhat unique.
The macros are really helpful i use alot of them on my keybinds.
the problem though, is that i need some sort of macro that would help me have the healer on focus to CC him without targeting.
I have a program that tracks my mouse movement and times it. doing some trial runs turns out that switching targets to cc takes me a good 2 seconds if one target was at the edge of my screen to the other target on the opposite end. (optical mouse really unstable) until i can afford a higher end mouse, i'll be having difficulties.
Me and my Hpally healer tried all day and we cant break 1232 rating because of teams like this. we are stuck in a loop where we win 2 games and then lose 2. we are both 5kg's relentless gear (except for my weapons being crappy and no way of getting new ones since i don't have PvE gear.)
So my Question is.. what Changes would you make to my spec and gear (except weapons) and what sort of tactic would i go about since mana draining a druid is almost impossible. which spec is better for this comp? MM or Surv? Here is the link to my armory. Thanks in advance, and i miss fighting alongside a skilled hunter such as yourself, even though you might not remember and have a thing for the BM spec
In my opinion, MM would be the way to go for this combo. SV could work as well, but Silencing Shot and the Readiness Burst/Survivability factor is what is going to win matches. When playing aggressively, you can't beat MM for the burst, and when your Pally gets CC'd, you have the double readiness option to keep you alive if needed.
However, it really depends upon what you're most comfortable with, so… I'm going to recommend some changes for each spec.
I'd change things up a bit and with this: 0/58/13 MM PvP Build
Here's what we're dumping and why…
Improved Hunter's Mark
It's totally useless in PvP. It gets dispelled constantly and often times you won't want to bother casting it because it uses up a GCD. Right away this frees up 3 talent points and a glyph slot.
This is so-so for BGs, but completely worthless for arena. The reduced cooldown on RF is a non-factor in 2v2 arena, especially as MM (due to Readiness), and if you manage a killing blow then you've already won.
Improved Steady Shot
PvE talent all the way. Steady Shot is not a PvP shot – especially not in arena. Although you will be using it on occasion, this point can be better used elsewhere.
Glyph of Trueshot Aura
Not a bad glyph, but you need Glyph of Serpent Sting in order to get your Chimera Shots hitting as hard as possible.
Here's what you gain with my spec…
More burst… Your Chimeras will hit harder with the Serpent Sting glyph, you'll have Wild Quiver procs on occasion and your pet will have more focus by way of GftT, allowing for more pet specials (ie: attacks and snares).
More mana efficiency… Efficiency will help you from becoming mana starved and lessen the need for Viper, thus keeping your damage at a high rate.
More survivability... Glyph of Disengage gives you a 5 second reduced cooldown on one of your arena staples. Glyph of Aimed Shot and Disengage are mandatory for all serious PvP hunters.
I'll continue this tomorrow Saint. I just realized it's pretty late, and WoWHead's undergoing maintenance right now – interfering with my ability to link builds and so-forth.
I'll hook you up with a MM pet spec and SV/pet spec tomorrow.
Wow thanks man the new build is so much better i was up there with paladins in WSG today. can't wait to see more. though the hpally i was with left my 2's im open to new healers.. what should i look for?
and good news, i picked up a razer naga i shelled out 86 total at bestbuy and got the sucker over the n52 gamepad, thing is amazing. I already use shift+scrolldown for trinket and up for rapidfire/killcommand.
this mouse makes hitting master's call and my traps easier. I won't however use it for attacks of any kind, just useful keybinds.
Also, I heard forcing autoshot before an attack makes for more burst so i tried it and got some nice big numbers (im the stand and shoot at a distance guy) i can kite as well as any other hunter can too. but i like seeing those white crits mix with yellow crits
What i want to know is if it's my mind screwing with me or does it actually help?
Yesterday i tamed a crab pet in hopes of seeing my pet die less in arena (i pull it back to me but people REALLY hate pets D: ... ) and i was wondering on how to spec that pet.
Thanks again garwulf! your contribution to the hunter community is helping alot of people, Yourself, Brang, Kripp. all of you are doing a good job and bringing inspiration to hunters everywhere. Keep on doing it and don't stop.
Awesome! I'm glad to hear that bit of advice has helped somewhat.
I know I promised a follow-up last night, but I ran out of time today, and well now… I've had a few beverages (of the adult variety) and am about to hit some BGs.
I'll catch back up with you tomorrow.
In the meantime, see today's post. It was somewhat inspired by your post. Try the SV build I linked in there and see what you think.
I'd stick with the agility gems. Attack Power is only (arguably) marginally better for PvP. Agility gives you added crit*, which is very important for Beast Masters. I switch between MM and BM and go all out agility.
The only real gemming conflict I run into is the Spell Pen one. BM doesn't really need spell pen, where as MM and SV must have it. It won't hurt your BM spec though. Core Hounds, Chimaeras, Worms, etc... all benefit from spell pen, as does arcane shot. It's just a little better to go agil/stam or ap/stam in those blue gem slots for BM.
* you also get dodge and armor btw. Agility is the better PvP value IMO, especially for 2v2.
