So Im in Warsong Gulch (working on Outriders reputation, I hate this battleground). Anyways, as par the course the Alliance side is filled with arena geared junkies AND a partial pre-made to boot. That wasnt what has brought me to make this post though. There was an S.Priest that was geared to the teeth that decided it was his job to kill me as much as he possibly could. I tried silencing, trapping, scatter shotting, you name it and hardly did any damage to him. I pretty much spent the match trying in vein to run away from him. Eventually I gave up at the last 5 minutes or so of the match and didnt rez.

Get your paladin friend to come in, one-shot her, then bubble hearth while you pop out of camo and laugh?

What I wanna know is where our “johnny one-button” win button is?
Druid (lazer chicken): moonfire, moonfire, moonfire………….
Mage: icelance, icelance, icelance
Deathknight: chains of ice, chains of ice, chains of ice……..or…….death coil, death coil, death coil………..
Warlock: fear spam
S.Priest: fear spam
Yes, I'm a bit bitter with PvP at the moment.

yeah, i completely agree. I'm willing to bet Multishot after the next patch will be dumbed down due to the pvp'ers…

I'm thinking of calling it quits in PvP after I get Warsong Outriders to Exalted. It's got me WAY frustrated. Blizz screwed battlegrounds when they added arenas and arena gear. I know some around here do arena, but I don't see the point of PvPing if I go up against a Rogue with 4k or better resilience. It's a tough fight in normal gear, how the hell am I supposed to stand a chance against one that can soak up any damage I do to him?

The funnier thing is when two hunters come across, and try to beat eachother to hell, in expanse of the bg tactics.. Ironically, I just want to /wave at them, but generally they take it as an insult, and happen to see me as if I'm the biggest threat to their group, and rain down everything they have on their action bar over me.. D-,:
This guy in the example doesn't seem exceptionally geared to me.
When you buy all the Honor PvP Gear with resilience priority, you can achieve ~3.1k resillience.
-Nowadays the trend is to play 2v2 for 5wins for a week and get the maximum conquest points, and in a few months you are in full Conquest gear – even weapons, which would make you close to 4k resi (not sure, maybe more)
-Most of those “unbeatables” are in general, the average PvP players, who spend most of their game time, doing nothing but farming honor or conquest points.
-For burst, I use all trinkets-cooldowns in a row, and weave tranq&concs frequently, to keep the target from healing back up in a glance.
-A few days ago, installed a new addon called “Healers Have to Die”; What it does? It puts a huge + icon
on the enemy healers' heads both in arenas and BGs. Well they are the source of “undying” players and name of the addon tells everything
-I tried to play SV for a long time but BM turns out to be a much better and enjoyable spec for PvP. Smart pet usage can turn the tide in many encounters, and the focus performance is best of 3 specs, that you hardly ever need to cast a cobra shot, and you can jump like a monkey all around, only using instant casts, lure them while your pet does the real damage.

You had me at “jump like a monkey”
I've begun (very) slowly putting together a PvP gear set. I've managed a couple drops from BH (gloves & cloak) and bought the Honor chest last night. I've *never* been a PvPer but I'm thinking I need something new in my WoW life to spice things up for my main.
BM is still my off-spec and I will definitely start fine-tuning my UI and shot priority and generally knock the rust off that spec for the next time I do any BG's (almost always restricted to Tol Barad these days.)
For those of you who PvP, to one who doesn' and has never done any Arena or had any interest in it, how do you go about getting involved in 2V2 or other Arena action?

I hate S.Priests. I usually stop their first fear with Silencing shot, the next one with scatter shot, the next one with FD, the next one with ShadowMeld (NE racial 🙂 ) , the next one with deterrence and then pop Readiness and repeat. I ususally try to wait until their fear is at least cast halfway before interruption to waste more of their casting time and get a few extra instant shots in there. If S.Priest is not dead after running through y 2nd chain of interrupts then I'm in real trouble which happens a lot against those arena players with 365ivl pvp gear. I feel your pain!!

Speaking of PvP gear, I'm very new to PvP and have absolutely no PvP gear whatsoever, so just go in my PvE gears that are in my sig's link to armory, which is really good gear, but not great when it comes to PvP, kind of a wet paper back in some regards. Is there a good place to start, like what is a good gear priority when it comes to PvP'n?

Again, have to refer you to %99s-guide-to-hunter-pvp-part-1-gearing-for-pvp-and-racials/” target=”_blank”>WHU and the first content post from the new PvP guru there. If for no other reason than there's a lot of information all in one place.
My best suggestion, as I'm just now starting to get into PvP and liking it, is to be sure and run Baradin Hold every week. I've already won 2 nice pieces from the drops there.

I was not able to get to your armory to check your gear but the first thing I bought with my honor points was http://www.wowhead.com/item=64793 which saved my behind many times and after that I started replacing my lowest ilvl PVE gear first and kept replacing until I had all PVP gear. Once I got to the point where all my PVE gear left to be replaced was the same ilvl, I started replacing first the ones with the least desirable secondary stats (mastery, haste) and left the ones with more crit to the end. Also remember to reforge your hit to %5 since all players are the same level and you won't need the %8 percent anymore. If you want to do some arena I highly recommend an addon called Gladius. It will tell which classes you're up against as soon as the match starts(unless enemy player is using stealth and it will tell you their class as soon as they unstealth). There's another addon called Healers Have to Die which will put a red cross over a healer as soon as it detects who the healer is (it detects the healer by looking for certain spells used by healers).
Here's a question for our PVP community. Do you guys use steady shot or cobra shot when going against plate wearing players? I'm MM and I know I should use steady for the Aimed Shot proc, for the haste after 2 consecutive SS, and for the bleed damage but SS does like %50 the damage that Cobra shot does since CS bypasses armor and I don't know if %50 extra damage on CS is worth dropping SS from my rotation. I wouldn't drop it completely but I was thinking of maybe doing 2 SS and then CS until I have to reapply the hast buff again. What do you guys use when fighting plates? Thanks!

I've read stuff where MM has been switching to Cobra Shot against plate, but I myself still use Steady Shot in pairs for the haste buff and Aimed Shot proc. I'm looking at testing Cobra though and see if it makes a difference.

Gear tips for starting pvpers: (repeating some other posts here and there)
1. Run BH every week. I prefer BH25 because of the increased likelihood of getting Hunter gear to drop.
2. If you have the gold or can make them, get the Bloodied Dragonscale armor to fill in any missing pieces. The resilience will be well worth it to increase your survivability in BGs and arenas.
3. Run BGs and get your set pieces first. These will give you your biggest payoff in resilience over time when compared to filling the cheaper slots.
4. Gem for resilience until you get to 3k. Then, as you get more pieces, regem for damage but you want a minimum of 3k resilience.
5. Gem for 100-200 Spell Penetration once you are at 3k resilience. Vital for all specs for avoiding resists. There are several guides that cover the various specs.
6. If you are doing arenas for conquest points, get your weapons before you get anything else. Save your points every week until you can buy your ranged and you MH. These two will give you more resilience than any other items and typically are good choices for increasing your DPS unless you are a raider.
This is what I would have done if I had to start all over.
