OfflineHi all,
I thought I’d start a discussion thread about gearing our hunters for PVP. By gearing, I mean the whole deal, armour, trinkets, weapons, enchants, gems… the works! There are a plethora of guides out on the internet, but not many of them that I’ve seen tend to be relative to the latest patch.
As a PvE hunter, I was always after Hit (to cap), Agility and then everything else a distant third depending on what spec I was in, Mastery/Haste/Crit usefulness differs with each spec. However, now that I am primarily a PvP hunter, I have different needs. For one, I no longer have a tank to hold agro for me, so I get hit more, so I need more health than I was accustomed to.
PvP ARMOR
My 85 hunter (Predatoor, Jubei’Thos) last night acquired his fifth piece of Viscious armour. He also has Viscous Neck, one Ring and one Trinket. I am not doing any arenas yet, but have a friend I can do some with now I have some decent gear.
PvP GEMS
What I am interested in now, is real (not theoretical) stat priorities for PVP hunters.
I find that the longer I live, the more damage I do (makes sense, really) so I have found myself gemming for both Stamina and Resilience wherever I can. In my blue slots I have put Resilience AND Stamina (20/30) onto a piece of gear, and it gets me the slot bonus of some resilience. When it comes to red or yellow slots, I am choosing gems with Resilience and Agility (20/20) because there are no gems with Agility and Stamina available. I use the site WoW Gem Finder ( http://www.wow-gem.com/ ) by the way.
PvP ENCHANTS
There are some head and shoulder enchants available from the Honor vendor, and I intend to acquire those as I continue along my PvP road to glory. I can’t recall any PvP enchants my enchanter mage can make, but I haven’t looked for a while. Is therea place where an enchanter may acquire scrolls to learn PvP enchants?
Beyond that, I am trying to add as much Stamina as I can to whatever I can, unless I get a better Agility rating.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
D
