So i recently just got NPCscan to aid my hunt for Sambas. I never used it before cause i never really had the time or the bm spec to tame any badass rares like loque. So i just wanted to no if you have to delete your cache manually everytime because its sooo annoying going through SW and getting that feed that says so and so has been cached. Is tehre anything i can do to avoid having to delete it everytime i log on?
NPCSCAN cache has to be deleted each time. kinda sucks but i know.
I actually created a post about rare scanning addons: Getting Your Tame On: Addons. Like Yagenaud said, yes you do have to empty your cache.
Alternatively you could try SilverDragon, but if you prefer NPCScan then you can make it so everytime you start up wow your cache gets deleted.
You could create a new file in your WoW folder where Launcher.exe is located (this is very important you place the file here) and name it Launcher.bat Launcher just right-click and select New then select any type of file, you just need to change the extention to .bat). Open this in Notepad (not Wordpad/Word), and paste the following:
del /s “C:World of WarcraftCacheWDBenUScreaturecache.wdb”
START Launcher “C:World of WarcraftLauncher.exe”
Note: the actual path might differ depending to where you installed WoW and what version you use, US/EN.
You can duplicate the del line and add one for npccache.wdb too if you also want NPCs reset too (which I’m assuming is the right file )
You can’t apply a sexy icon to it, but if you create a shortcut to that batch file, then you can apple a sexy icon to it (icons can be used
from the Launcher.exe or WoW.exe file).

Sorry when I start tpying I don't really realize if I get too technical. I can post up screenies or a tutorial video if it helps + where is your WoW installed? That is, where is your Launcher.exe file located? And are you using Mac/Windows?
Usually it's C:/Program Files/World of Warcraft/Launcher.exe
But if you installed somewhere else I can adjust the "Launcher Shortcut" for you.
IM using windows and its located in "C:Program FilesWorld of WarcraftLauncher.exe"

Sorry feeling a lil lazy for screenshots/video but I made the slight adjustment to the code. Okay so..
1. Open up the folder where Launcher.exe is
2. Right-click on an empty white space, and select New->Text Document
3. Name it "WoW Launcher.bat" (so that's changing the extension from .txt to .bat)
4. Open up "WoW Launcher.bat" with Notepad
5. Paste the following:
del /s “C:Program FilesWorld of WarcraftCacheWDBenUScreaturecache.wdb”
START Launcher “C:Program FilesWorld of WarcraftLauncher.exe”
6. Save, then close. So next time you start WoW, start it from "WoW Launcher.bat" (you can rightclick on teh file, select Properties then change the icon if you would like)
