[#1097]

Hello there all fellow hunter's

I'm new to this site/forum, so hope i'v put my question in the right place.

I started to play some pvp, still only bg's, and my gear is not that great, but that's not

my biggest problem.

My problem is, when i get stunlocked by a rogue, my pet just stand around looking stupid,

watching he's master getting killed.

1 question:

is there any way to get my pet to attack the rogue, when im sapped/stunlocked ?

2 question

is there a way to make a macro, use trinket/get pet to attack and do the immertidation on target ?

in advance thx.

Bowtox

IF Darwynn doesn't get to this answer soon, feel free to send him a private message. He's been hard at work at many PVP macros and doing a great job.

@Niika… thanks for the vote of confidence… (ahhh! The pressure….!)

I'll begin by suggesting you visit Garwulf's Macro guide   https://huntsmanslodge.com/macros/

I'll quote from the very first PVP macro in his guide:

/cleartarget
/targetenemyplayer
/petattack
/cast Hunter’s Mark
/startattack
/petassist

My own macro is a little different, but Gar has been playing a lot longer than I have and his macro works.

/cleartarget

/targetenemyplayer

/use [combat] Runic Healing Potion

/use [combat] Super Healing Potion

/use [combat] Major Healing Potion

/startattack

/use 13

/petdefensive

/petattack

/castsequence reset=target Serpent Sting, Hunter's Mark

I'll step through it…

/cleartarget

removes your current target. Your more immediate concern is whoever is on your back!

/targetenemyplayer

this makes sure you target a player, and not a pet.

/use [combat] Healing Potion of choice

I have three lines cos I'm not rich. I don't go into bgs demanding heals so I always carry my own medicine, sometimes I can't afford the best. This is to counteract that first blow you've already taken.

/startattack

Hunter's are not good at melee, but if you can't shake your opponent, at least you'll be fighting back

/use 13

Until level 60 you can buy defensive trinkets that absorb a certain amount of damage. I kept mine in slot 13. You can use 14 if you wish. (from Arathi Vendor, from memory)

/petdefensive

I always like my pets on defensive stance. This does that. They will defend against anyone who 1. attacks them, 2 attacks me

/petattack

This tells the pet to attack my current target, which was selected in line 2

/castsequence reset=target Serpent Sting, Hunter's Mark

I choose to use serpent sting before Hunter's mark as it causes damage over time, and therefore will prevent the rogue/feral going stealth again. If playing a SV spec I'd be tempted to drop an ice trap as well to give you Lock and Load should your assailant step on it.

eg: /castsequence reset=target Ice Trap, Serpent Sting, Hunter's Mark

As always, this is what I do, and I hope it helps.

Cheers,

D

Thx Darrwyn

I get you point with the macro.

i belive what i'v been looking for, was to set my pet to defesive stance,

so it will start attack when rogue/druid open on me, ;o)

I will study some of Garwulf's macrobuild, to get more more into the macro mechanics.

Thanks again for the reply

You can actually still command your pet to attack a chosen target while stunned, take note. Especially if your stealth detection kicks in and you can see the guy meandering around in a semi-obscured state after he's already Sapped you. While you're not able to move, your pet can, so take advantage of it.

I currently have Gar's macro on my Tauren and it's proven quite useful in popping a Druid once. 😉
