Back in business...

After weeks of shuffling through three different mice, the replacement mouse skates for my G5 showed up today. I slapped those babies on and bam… it was like hugging an old friend. I wore through one of the mouse feet on my G5 back in September, and I haven't been the same since. I went back to using my old MX 518 for a bit, but it was on its last legs, then finally with a gasp and a wheeze… it drew its dying breath within days. The tracking thingamahbob went out and it started acting all wonky during some intense image editing, so I ended up giving it the Office Space treatment. Next I stole my wife's PoS G3, which is a pretty crappy mouse IMO. I finally resorted to ordering one of the newer Deathadders, and I liked it OK, but it just didn't do it for me. Many people swear by Razer, but I like Logitech. I like the way the G5 feels in my hand… the heft, the countour, the way it glides… One thing that bummed me about the Razer was that it was supposedly Mac-friendly, but the drivers are s**t. I played with the settings quite a bit, but could never find the sweet spot, nor could I ever get the acceleration truly turned off. The other thing that pissed me off… after every reboot, I had to go in and configure my mouse preferences, as they would reset every time after a shut-down or reboot. Anyway, I kept on the lookout for and alternative solution, then found a place that sold replacement feet, so I ordered some. As I said, I'm back in business. It's amazing how simple hardware issues can affect your enjoyment of the game. What's your mouse of choice people? And yes… I purposefully set myself up with that one particular line in the post… have at it Niika, or Drach for that matter… ;)

I've been using a Razer Orochi. I wanted to keep on using a Magic Mouse but I just couldn't get used to its shape (for gaming, at least).
