I'm a level 73 mm hunter and I know I still have alot to learn about hunters. Theoretically if i have two pieces of gear and one has more ranged attack power and the other has better crit chance, which is better for me?
Thanx Meshoot
Honestly at level 73 it doesn't matter that much because you'll probably change the piece of gear out by level 75. However, once you get to 80 it all depends on your gear and stat balance. To be honest though, I think as a hunter you will find you get plenty of crit from your talents, all the agility you'll have, and because the majority of our gear either comes with crit, hit, AP, ArP, or haste. Or at least some combination of those stats. So again it comes down to stat balance for your current gear and what else is different between the gear, there's an addon called rating buster if I remember it's name correctly, that's great for in game calculations like that.
It also depends somewhat upon what you're gearing for. For example, for MM PvP you need a lot of crit for the burst, where as in PvE you prefer more sustained damage.
But as Helz said, don't sweat it too much. Both stats are fine, and if we're talking only one piece of gear then the difference of equipping either will be marginal. Once you get to 80 and start pressing through heroics and raids, then you can start worrying about stat weights.
My current crit is 54.59%
to be honest I don't really think about mine anymore, I had to look at the armory for it...
showing 60.39% but i think that's from a buff or something because the last time I looked at it when I was unbuffed I want to say it was more like 58.39% or at least somewhere more in the area of 58%.
mine is 54.03 currently, which is down. I *try* and remember to click off my raid buffs if i have them, since I am rather addicted to the FemaleDwarf.com playground. lol
