[#586]

A nice chunk of our guild is already 85 *growl hiss snarl*.   I am just logging in for the first time since upgrading on Tuesday.  Turned in 25 dailies for a nice boost in XP so maybe tonight I can actually start questing.

I was curious about what everyone thought of the new Guild Achievements.  I was scrolling through the list and it looks like the portal removal was answered by Guild trinkets that can port among other items.    Is it just me or did they gear the game towards guild's to get the good stuff?

I think you're right Abby. Many of the guild goodies are almost too good, and make it to where it's more beneficial to being in a guild. Seems they want us to socialize more, which is okay I guess. I've been without a guild for my entire time playing and totally like it that way. I joined one a few weeks back, and kind of wish I was still solo. However now that I know what goodies are in store for being in a guild, I may just find a more mature bunch...and just a soap box thing, why is it so hard to find a mature guild, I hate that the word mature doesn't actually mean mature it means a lame bunch of teenagers who like to have overly sexual conversations....sorry, just frustrates me.

I agree!   I would happily pay extra to be on a server that did not allow anyone under the age of 25.   Our guild has gone to limiting the age group of who can be accepted unless there are special considerations so I don't have to deal with much.   I keep trade chat turned off at all times.

I have a few friends that prefer to play solo and they are not happy about the guild boosts.

I am pretty happy with the guild perks, personally, but I think i'm in a different postion.    We/I have the largest guild on Moon Guard currently, but are not a raiding guild, so we just hit 85 today for a couple of folks.   The only pressure to level through Cat is a friendly one among several of the folks.  There are more folks who prefer to read quests and explore the lore, in my guild.

What I am not happy about is the guild leveling daily limits - we are working on 600 members, and so hit our daily limit about an hour or two into the day, and it's frustrating to my over-acheivers who are uber-dedicated to being a Screaming Bee.  That scorpid mount is a driving factor for pretty much everyone except me.  I do so love my sparkle pony.... Anyways,  I realize it is to stall the leveling of a large guild, however, there is nothing to stop the leveling of a player or rep gains, so why stop a guild?

I think the guild chat, personally, can make or break a guild.  Our guild is pretty mature, and we do keep a PG13 rating before 10pm server (I had to bounce a kid for using the P word the other night, for instance, since he refused to change his language) since we have everyone from 11 year olds to 68-year olds.  Never in my wildest imagination did I ever think a guild like this would be successful, but it's extremely popular and we are picking up a ton of solo players.  It's a source of quiet pride for me, being able to give a home to so many, and have them be happy.

You can also turn off guild chat as well, if you don't want the drama.  I'm lucky, if there is drama with my crew, it's usually solved by telling someone to log off and take a hot shower and make cookies, then bring me some.
