[#437]

So I'm leveling my WHU toon the other night and I ding 35, the level at which I can take a Comfortable Leather Hat out of he GB and get down to business.  I equip it and discover that it's not a helm, but literally a HAT.  A wide-brimmed, black leather beauty.  And I thought to my self, "Self…NOW he looks like a hunter!"  And it was true.  Not like another dwarf.  Not like another over-armored non-warrior.  But a HUNTER.

I wish that hunters didn't take on the over-armored look with their tier sets like they do now.  I mean really, I haven't thought there was anything even slightly "camoflauge-like" about the tier sets from BC on.  And that's how I want to feel.  Like I blend in.  Like I'm HUNTING things.  STALKING them.  Maybe that's why I'm so stoked about Camoflauge at lvl 85.  I could care less about any burst damage it offers me.  It SCREAMS that I'm a hunter!  I know that we have to do as much DPS as we can given the fact that we are a damage class.  I just wish we didn't have to look so obnoxious to do it.  I recognize that I am most likely in the minority here and that most others would feel like "my armor is so sucky and plain looking compared to the warriors and DKS, etc."  I just wish it wasn't like that.  I wish we looked more weathered and worn.  Like we've been outside for weeks at a time in crappy weather tracking our target.  Hats make me feel that way.  So does simple armor.

God I love being a hunter!

LOL Lawman, that is the best post.

One of the best things I love about being on an rp server is the lack of limits on potential outfits.  Niika always looks weathered in her 'street clothes' (LOVE my weather-beaten fishing hat) and in character, is irritated when she has to dress for a function.  It was hard for me when I started raiding, to remember to equip her raiding gear for various raid leaders.  I really wish the clothing designers would stop feeling the need to top themselves and homogenize all the gear sets, and design for the class.

I to don't care for the appearance of being heavily armored. I like to see the more traditional ranger clothing. Leather and such. I picture my character more of a stalker/sniper type. Sneak in within range and shoot someone. The current look of armor just doesn't say "sneaky" to me.

When I think of a hunter, I think of an ultra-efficient long range facilitator. A hunter has to be ready to handle anything or anyone. Wearing armor is just part of the job.

But then again, I am biased due to my namesake 🙂

I would totally agree with this post,   I don't show my helm or my cloak for that reason.. anything to slim her down.

I don't think I should look like a rogue,  but the gear I wear I wish looked more flexible, I guess,  then what it looks now.

In hindsight, the hat is not as wide-brimmed as others in the game.  But its still a hat.  And it still looks cool as hell.  Now I just want one with a wider brim.  And crockalisk teeth wrapped around it.  >=)

I hide my helm and cloak but really wish I could show my boots.  Since my troll is blue I always think I'm running around with hospital booties on.

^^  The little while my shammy was horde,  she was a troll.  I couldn't get over the ninja turtles toes they have, not in a bad way.  But I managed to have the theme song in my head for the whole month I was horde before x fering back.
