Hi Flib,
I'm well known in these parts for my heretical views on macros. Specifically, using castsequence macros!
Yes, I know! But I do it anyway...
So, I believe your macro can use a "Darrwyn Review"!
Lets try:
#showtooltip Mend Pet
/castsequence [@pet,exists] reset=target/shift/72 hug, feed pet, hug, throwball, hug, pat, hug, dance, hug
/cast Mend Pet
There, that looks better!

Your macro hugs the pet five times Big D. Before some elitist jumps on you for posting such a macro I will. I don't even want to get into the issues pertaining to the impossibility of casting hug pet 5 times given the GCD, not too mention casting mend pet at the same time will nullify feed pet and 4 of the 5 hug pets essentially making your macro moot. However as I said that's not for me to comment on. The biggest problem with your macro that doesn't work is you are hugging the pet 5 times. Our pets need to be lean mean nasty fighting machines, not coddled punkass kiddies. Just sayin.
Not knowing you aren't supposed to be able to achieve something often ensures that you will. Book of Agio 22:2

Dear, dear Agio.... get out of the wrong side of the bed?
YOU might want a savage beast, some of us want companions, pals, bffs...
Poor, poor Agio...
