[#203]

I'm trying to save space on my action bar by condensing the amount of space taken up by simple spells but this doesn't seem to be working at all for me. I wondered if a macro-master could assist me building this into a working forumla?

/cast Serpent Sting
/cast [mod:alt] Viper Sting

I probably wouldn't mind Viper sting first given that this is more for PVP action bar assembly, but I'd assume I can just swap out the spell name. Argh, I despise macros, haha. Speaking of- thank you Gar for writing all of them.

That macro's perfect. As you mentioned, just maybe use the higher priority show without the modifier key.

Hmm, it made sense (the macros writing) but it's not working at all. I can use that thing on a mage and it'll still apply only the Serpent, no matter how hard I keycombo/ mash, click, etc. It's odd 🙁 oh well I guess.

Try a shift or ctrl modifier and see if either of those work.

Look at the standard Keybinds in the menue and unbind the functions for Shift+1, Shift+2, and so on... maybie thats the reason why the macro don't shows any reaction.

#showtooltip

/cast [mod] Viper Sting; Serpent Sting

A shorter version of your macro, which works with any modificator: shift, alt, ctrl.

Is [mod] working instead of [modifier]?

Errrm... maybie you try to deactivate all your AddOns and try it again?

Did you tried it with each of them: Shift, Alt and Ctrl?

Or are you running a different language? Check your WOW direction here: World of Warcraft/Data/ ???

What folder is in the Data-directory?

Thats because spellnames in macros have to be in the same language like your client is...

Insert [modifier] instead of [mod] and try it with each single variation: [modifier:shift], [modifier:alt], [modifier:ctrl] like Gar said already...

And at least, try it with other variations of this macro, such as this one:

#showtooltip

/cast [modifier] Aspect of the Viper; Aspect of the Dragonhawk

This macro works with ALL modifiers^^

How ever, the "disable all addons"-thing should help you to find the mistake..

Everyone's going to kick themselves here.

What I think you want is:

/cast [mod:alt] Viper Sting

/cast Serpent Sting

In the original order the game will cast Serpent Sting no matter what.

The other way to do this is to use:

/cast [nomod] Serpent Sting

/cast [mod:alt] Viper Sting

Personally, I like to make my macros as short as I can, in case I need to add stuff, so I'd use the format suggested by Psycot above:

/cast [mod:alt]viper sting;  serpent sting

Oh wow.. just the macro is wrong 😮

Mockingbird is totally right… its just the macro, it allway will cast Serpent Sting, no matter if you push modifier-buttons..

And FYI:

/cast [nomod] Serpent Sting

/cast [mod:alt] Viper Sting

and…

/cast [mod:alt] viper sting;  serpent sting

/! you forgot the make a SPACE between [mod:alt] and viper sting… I don't know if it's necessary. /!

is exactly the same, but the last one is way shortet, I prefer this version too…

Thank you Mockingbird
