[#463]

I followed the instructions on how to instal the UI, and I was very excited to try it. The only problem is, once I select my hunter, and it tries to load, it stops responding. I shut all of the addons off, and loaded my DK, and it loaded fine. I am not sure what is keeping the game from loading. Most of the graphics have been turned down. I even restarted my computer to see if that would work. I am not sure where to go from here. Any help would be awesome. I am really looking forward to trying out the UI.

I suggest waiting a few days for the updated version. Your problem could be any number of things, including some out-of-date addons.

I just tried installing it on my desktop. I made sure to update all of teh addons, and I am still having the same problem. I am running Windows 7 64bit.

Any advice, any tricks I might not have thought to try?

I had this problem when I first loaded the GUI.

If you really can't wait for Gar's updated version (recommended), you must find out which add-on(s) is/are causing the freeze-up. I did this by first disabling all add-ons, and then enabling them a few at a time, making sure at every stage that the GUI loads okay. One of two things will happen:

1. All the add-ons will work when they are enabled, and you'll end up with a fully working GUI that just needs a bit of adjustment to suit your screen size etc. This is what happened in my case.

2. The GUI will stop loading again after enabling a certain set of add-ons, in which case you go back one step: disable the ones you just enabled, then enable them one by one until you find the one causing the problem. Leave that one disabled for the moment and continue enabling the rest.

With any luck you'll end up with either all add-ons working, or just one disabled. What you do then depends on what the one is...

Good luck!

I got it working!!

Thanks Felinin. I didn't even think about doing it one addon at a time. I had problems with Power Auras. And Chatter. It seems that they didn't install right. So once I downloaded them, everything worked fine. I am happy.

Great work Gar!

Now to give my alts the UI. 😀
