I thought of sharing what I’m currently doing as BM. This was inspired by Darrwyn’s post.
My rotation is:
Focus Fire
Kill Shot
Kill Command
Arcane Shot
Cobra Shot
And those are integrated into macros:
I open up with Pet Attack:
/assist Focus
/petpassive
/petfollow [target=pettarget, exists]
/stopmacro [target=pettarget, exists]
/petattack [target=pettarget, noexists]
/cast Hunters Mark
followed by Serpent Sting:
#showtooltip Serpent Sting
/cast !Auto Shot
/cast [@target, exists] Focus Fire
/cast [@target, exists] Serpent Sting
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
next is Kill Command:
#showtooltip Kill Command
/cast !Auto Shot
/cast [@target, exists] Focus Fire
/cast [@target, exists] Kill Command
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
Arcane Shot:
#showtooltip Arcane Shot
/cast !Auto Shot
/cast [@target, exists] Focus Fire
/cast [@target, exists] Arcane Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
Cobra Shot (which could be noisy due to alerts if Rapid Fire/Blood Fury is on cooldown)
#showtooltip Cobra Shot
/cast !Auto Shot
/cast [@target, exists] Rapid Fire
/cast [@target, exists] Blood Fury
/cast [@target, exists] Cobra Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
Kill Shot if available:
#showtooltip Kill Shot
/cast !Auto Shot
/cast [@target, exists] Focus Fire
/cast [@target, exists] Kill Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
For long fights, I do *this* in the beginning and sometime near the end:
#showtooltip Bestial Wrath
/cast !Auto Shot
/cast [@target, exists] Bestial Wrath
/cast [@target, exists] Call of the Wild
/cast [@target, exists] Rabid
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
— while up, I spam Arcane Shot and Kill Command then Cobra Shot to refresh Serpent Sting.
That’s it. All these, I learned from Gar and Frostheim.
YMMV and mine too. If there’s a more efficient way to do all these, then let me know. Thanks!
Anj,
Thanks for sharing what you do.
I found having separate macros for each shot worked well in PVE, but as my thread says, I'm a bit slow to react to things. It's cooldown management and reaction that I have difficulty with. And while BM has less than other specs (I think) there is still a few...
Kill Command on 6 seconds
Concussive Shot of 5 seconds
Kill Shot on 10 seconds (unless glyphed... love that glyph!)
Serpent Sting 12 seconds?
Intimidation 60 seconds
Bestial Wrath 1.4 minutes (or 20 seconds less with Glyph)
Fervor 2 minutes...
Rapid Fire on 5 minutes (for BM)
That's why I automate as much as I can...
I don't see Fervor or Intimidation in your macros. Do you have them on separate keys? With a 45 second CD you'll get to use it a lot more than Rapid Fire.
/assist Focus
/petpassive
/petfollow [target=pettarget, exists]
/stopmacro [target=pettarget, exists]
/petattack [target=pettarget, noexists]
/cast Hunters Mark
A couple of questions here...
1. Why do you stop the macro if your pet has a target? and you have set it to follow?
2. What would your pet attack if it doesn't have a target?
3. This is what I make of your logic, and it has me stumped...
If pet has a target
Then it goes to passive mode, and returns to you and macro terminates.
If pet has NO target
Then set it to attack mode so it has a chance to agro something
And put Hunter's Mark on your target
If I haven't got the logic right, can you explain it for me, please?
I would tend to use something like this...
/assist focus [help] Just in case you focus on an enemy for some reason...
/petdefensive This is just me, I prefer mine on defensive
/petattack Go get some!... and this will be your target
/castsequence Intimidation If it's available Fido is badass for 15 seconds
/cast Hunter's Mark I admit, this may need a second keystroke now and then
Cheers,
D
hey anj, do u raid? if so how much u pull. Just curious 😀
