Patch 4.0.3 went live tonight, and killed The Beast.  He no longer has a boss tag, shows up as Level -1, and lost his insanely high damage reduction.  I'm SO PISSED!!!  I just got him about a month ago, and he's been THE trophy in my Hunter collection, and now this.  I almost feel betrayed at this.

To all of us who have solo tamed The Beast, I salute you!  Post your name here if you have solo tamed The Beast for the last true record of your accomplishment!

Oh that is sad.   I was just down there last night and gave him a big hug.  Never tamed him - I liked him where he was.

I was just going to post this.  I noticed last night when I pulled out mine.  Bummer, indeed.  They could have, at least, kept the boss tag.  Oh well...

Fink I disagree.  Where the changes are much to take in,  it's going to round out at 85.   Change is good for the game,  specially  since this change is what hunters were ment to be at the start.

^ This.

Everything is a little out-of-whack right now, but will make more sense at 85. We're in a strange state of flux, just as we were pre-WotLK, only this time we're the class that's a bit underpowered.

Just wait and decide at 85. I'm sure we'll be in a much better place by then.

I may end up with my account banned, but I let blizz know what I thought about it, even though I was expecting it, the change still makes me mad.

Those who solo tamed The Beast before the 50% reduction in tame time, whether with or without Gar's advice (in my case very much with) are entitled to feel a bit miffed at what Blizz have done to this pet now. As I mentioned elsewhere, the one 'trophy' we had to show for the dedication and effort we put in to tame The Beast (as opposed to an 'ordinary' core hound with the same skin) has been taken out of our trophy cabinet and thrown in the trash.

And to add insult to injury, other late-to-the-party hunters are now coming along and boasting how easy it was for them, and how all the fuss with using TBW and Pet Abandon is totally unnecessary. One guy wrote at length how he managed to tame The Beast easily.. with a dead priest healing him! So it counts as a solo tame when the toon who's helping you is dead! :O)

But I agree with Celika - we need to put these things behind us, and move on. There is lots for us to think about and practice in preparation for the greater challenges and rewards just ahead. Maybe The (ex-)Beast will stay in my stable, maybe not... if/when I run short of stable slots, his once-upon-a-time Boss-level awesomeness may not be enough to save him.
