well due to having nothing but problems with latency and fps since both patches, not to mention the very poor customer support, i am done with this game. i have done everything they have told me to do with any and all upgrades and changing settings but still get the stutter while playing. my fps will not go above 20 and most of the time its way lower. before the patches i had upgraded my video card to an nvidea 8400 and added 2 megs of ram and went to win 7. the game was beautiful, i was in heaven when playing. i coudlnt believe the quality i was getting. i maxed every video setting and it was just plain awesome. since the patch everything went down hill fast. and blizzards has no clue why this is happening. i have to put all video settings to the lowest setting to make the game playable but then its really not playable that way. the only way i can get the fps to go close to 40 is to not have a single addon loaded and i cant play with blizzards ui. anyway, i hope everyone else doesnt have the bad experience i have had with this game or their customer service. with 12,000,000 subscribers at $15 a month, thats $180,000,000 income a month! they could open a few call centers all over the USA and i am sure some communities would welcome this big boost to their economy but no you call in and get a message saying the que is full try calling at another time. it took me over 25 calls over 4 days to finaly get into the que then i had to wait on hold for over 35 minutes. that is not a way to run a support department. good luck all and i will miss reading this site for tips and tricks about hunters.
I'm not sure this is the right forum to post this kind of topic. Blizzard has been maxed for support for a long time, so it's no surprise it takes forever to talk to a person live.
Other things you can try if you haven't already:
Defragging your hard drive
Ensure your new video card has the latest drivers
If you are upgrading other components, your motherboard may need to be upgraded
Scour the WoW support forums
It's probably not a hardware issue, and I know other people are experiencing problems similar to this. Blizzard knows there are issues, and sometimes it's hard to pinpoint things sometimes. Just try to be patient, inevitably when Cataclysm hits the whole game will break for some and only partly for others. They are going to be super taxed for a while I'm sure, especially with a major expansion around the corner.
Sorry you're having trouble.
I think I need to update my mother board.. But I have NO idea how to do that.
