I just placed "world of warcraft hunter" into the Almightly Googles and I have to say I am very excited to have found this site and forum for Hunters!
I just started playing for the first time ever, mainly due to my boyfriend starting to play again. I think he hadn't played since 2008 so when he started again his character (an Undead Mage) was at level 70 and he had it to 85 in a little over a week, so I was witness to a lot of playing. LOL I was wondering how it could be so consuming and I heard news of it being free until level 20 so I took the plunge, downloaded and started to play. I was a bit dubious at first as my gaming skills peaked at the age of 12 or so with defeating Bowser in Super Mario World. I have been out of my element in all 3D games...I am pretty pro at Netflix on Xbox, but that's about it.
About a week ago I started out with a Blood Elf Hunter (this was before I had done any research at all). After about 30 minutes I thought I wasn't going to get the hang of it enough to really enjoy it, but I tried it the next day when I had a few hours and I got hooked.."oh, just one more quest...oh, well, just THIS one more quest..." I am by no means pro at efficiently moving around, but I find it loads easier than any gaming console games I have attempted. My bf filled me in on using talent points, picking professions, etc. It didn't take too long and I had already reached many of the trial caps. I was too much of a wuss to accept anyone's duels though, as I had no idea what to expect. I just stuck with doing my quests, I reached level 20 on the elf. Oh, yeah, got my sweet slow-as-molasses-on-a-cold-day mount! (the bf said, I don't want to hear it, you used to have to wait until 40 to get a mount) 🙂 I decided to try playing as something else before I bought the game.
I did a little research and started with a Troll Hunter, right off of the bat I liked it a lot better than being a Night Elf Hunter. I have been playing a few days on the new character and decided to get a bit more serious and do a lot more online research. I have found a wealth of info on this site! I wish I would have found it sooner, the forum members all seem pretty awesome as well. Anyway, I hope to upgrade my account tonight or tomorrow and keep on learning. If there is a board on the forum for people that are new to playing that I missed, please let me know.

Welcome! We take in all sorts around here. Only requirement, BEING A HUNTER. There is no special area for people new to the Hunter class, but you can pretty much find any information you may be looking for and if you can't find....just ask. Everyone is very helpful around here and we have a wide range of knowledge.

This is a forum for people who love to play, from all levels of skill. Unlike some other eliter forums, we tend to focus on the camraderie and stories that bind us as players, tossing tips and growing along the way. Won't find a dumb question unless you post "hey love you long time, buy my gold?" and we have to roll our eyes and toss it into the spam bin. Everything else is fair game - we've all been there.
*smacks Window for dissing Pets, and winks at Khat and says "we keep 'Licker around as the Lodge Pet."

Tak! Really! You know the other classes are "Support Classes", not that other (correct, but) seemingly inferior word.
Welcome Khat. I hope you enjoy the forums and learn lots, and enjoy even more doing it. I can't remember what level I was when I first started enjoying this forum, but it was awhile ago. I now have 4 85's (only 1 a hunter) and find myself still learning, so don't expect too much of yourself. One day, it will all just.... click.

Welcome to the Lodge! I my self am a newcomer to these boards, however I have been playing hunter since release and let me tell you, leveling one from scratch this time around is waaaaaaaaaay different and I'm loving it! Hope you stick with it, don't be afraid to ask questions!

Welcome to the joint Khat, great story too. It's a great place for information sprinkled with incredibly witty commentary, friendly helpful people and inspiration from good folk like the Ozter. Why I recall the time I posted that you could cook on Terrorpene after you tamed him. Boy I tell you what, the Ozter was even more determined to grab that sexy turtle and by gosh gum boy did he!
