Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster here. 😀
I first came across this site a few months ago when, after deciding to try out World of Warcraft at the insistence of some friends and asking if there was any class that could use guns, I rolled a Hunter. I was hooked in the first few minutes alone, much to the detriment of my day job...
However, things took a turn for the worse when I realized just what exactly a PvP server meant for a newbie: gankers left and right. Once I had died for the 6th or 7th time in Un'Goro Crater, I decided I either had to step up my PvP game or quit. So a few RL guildee friends tried to help me out with a few Hunter builds and tricks here and there. It worked for a while, but it wasn't enough. Then two things happened:
1) A friend showed me Brang's videos.
2) While looking for Hunter builds, I stumbled across this site.
I tried out MM for a while, but then discovered the sheer beauty of Gar's pre-Cata BM PvP build. A few well-chosen pets here and there, a couple of near-max leveled professions, a few gemmed sockets and scopes, and soon I was slaughtering enemy players left and right. Long story short, this site and its theorycrafting really helped out a lot in practice, and has helped me to appreciate my class more in the face of "Hunter Hate". I just wish Gar would upload videos of himself doing Rated BGs or something, though. 😉
Currently I'm on a Trial account in Cataclysm as I'm a bit short on dough, but I'm finding BGing in the 20-24 bracket to be really fun, especially after finding out I can solo most of Wailing Caverns for the sole purpose of twinking my toon. 😉 I have an SV hunter right now as I decided to do things a bit differently than before.
Other than that, I'm an indie game developer who left his day job in order to try and make a living through making video games. Tough business for a lone wolf startup. X_X

Takaas: Lol, originally I didn't want to PvP, but I sort of found it nice and relaxing in the end for some strange reason. 😉 I also do raids and instances, although I pug rarely.
