[#484]

Hi there... I was in an instance yesterday and received some whispered instructions from the Party leader:

You need to stack!

I admit, I didn't see the instruction as I was watching my targets and my pet, not the chat box... anyway this was followed by:

STACK!!!

Well, once again I was following the action, not my chatbox and I found myself back in the world, obviously having been kicked.

Then I looked down at my chatbox, and saw the instruction and immediately answered, 'Stack what?' all to no avail of course because the PL was from another realm. So my obvious question is, what on earth (or Azeroth) was he talking about that I need to stack?  We were in Old Kingdom, after killing the vampire dude.

Stack means to stick together in a close-knit group, rather than spread out.

If he would have said Stack up  it prob would have been more clear to ya.   Stacking in some fights make for less dmg, easier mitigation, and easier heals =D

Just add that to that brain of wow terminology that it acquired in time.  WoW  should really come with a terminology hand book.

I can't believe you got kicked for that.  It's a heroic FFS!  I'm sure the group finished with 4 people which boils my blood even more because the party leader was obviously more concerned with "go go go go go " than stopping to find out what the problem was.  When I tank, if I ask someone to do something and they don't, I will stop and ask why.  If I'm DPSing on my hunter and I get asked to do something I don't understand, I will ask for explanation.

People should just chill the hell out.

Clearly your party leader must have been a tauren druid.

You're right Celika. I think a WoW handbook would be awesome. Something that someone could sift through during their lunch break, which explains a lot of the terminology and other things that many of the long time players take for granted.

A WoW for Dummies, like the one BRK was supposed to write awhile back.

It does really suck when players berate others just because they don't speak "gamer" and know all of the ins and outs of WoW. This game is far bigger than any game... ever. It attracts new players every day, and it's gotta be frustrating to try and enjoy a "game" when you've got elitist and impatient jerks to deal with.

I've been playing for nearly five years and I still can't understand why people would choose to be so rude, but such is human nature I suppose.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I've seen PLs say, group up, or stick close, but to me stacking has always been about buffs and debuffs. From memory, the tank was a bear, but I can't remember what the PL was. I know I was away from the others as I had been rushed by mobs... (Hmmm tank not holding agro?) so I had backpedalled to get room.

Cheers and tally ho!
