[#173]

Well, I just read your post on the change from mana to focus and I have some questions. First, what's going to happen to the Roar of Recovery ability that the cunning pets get? Second, will the intellect from our gear be replaced by some focus regen bonus or is Blizzard making my pvp gear I purchased obsolete now? They should replace all intellect items to some sort of focus regen bonus. Otherwise they really s#rewed me up since intellect is about 1/4 of the stats on my gear along with stamina, agility, and attack power. I really hope they consider that. Again, I don't know exactly what's going on but it's just a little scary because I don't want about 1/4 of my pvp gear stats to go to waste. Do you think they will change viper sting (and aspect) so that it converts stolen mana to focus or are they simply getting rid of it? If they do get rid of it, will they replace it with something else or do we lose an ability? I know you might not have all the answers but I just want to know your thoughts on it. I've only been playing wow for about 2 months so please forgive me if I sound like a noob         🙂

I'm not sure. I have not read anything about it yet. I haven't seen a lot of info yet on what is happening to pet abilities such as this.

I would think they would convert our gear we go into Cataclysm with, to conform with Cataclysm stats. I'm just guessing though. I haven't read much about this either.

Aspect of the Viper has been replaced by Aspect of the Fox. Fox will regen focus, much like Viper is doing for us now. I haven't been able to find any info on the status of Viper Sting.

Don't worry. All of our current gear stats will automagically convert to Cataclysm relevant stats once Cataclysm goes live.

None of your current gear stats will be "wasted". Focus won't be present on gear, but I believe Intellect changes to haste in Cata, which is a focus regenerator.

Ok, another question  🙂

I read the following Aspect of the Fox description from a website ( http://cata.wowhead.com/spell=82661/aspect-of-the-fox):

"The hunter takes on the aspects of a fox, increasing your focus regeneration by 20% and allows you to Auto-shot while moving."

The site says that it requires level 83. Is this true? Maybe it means that the "allows you to Auto-shot while moving" part won't be available until 83 but the focus regen part will be?  Thank you for all your answers! I love playing my hunter!! My average honor point amount per game has nearly doubled since I started using the talent build you recommended for my pet and I.

It's beta, so a lot of the stuff is going to get changed before Cataclysm comes out. Some tooltips are just temporary. I wouldn't get to excited about anything your seeing right now, be it bad or good. It's likely to change in some way.

Ok, thanks for the info. Also, what's going to happen to our ranged damage once they take ammo away? Is the damage from ammo being taken away or will they add extra damage to our ranged weapons to make up for the extra damage the ammo added?

Nothing definate on ammo yet. I've read some speculation that the ammo spot will be more like a Paladin's Libram for example. It may be a special item that drops in instances or can be bought and gives you bonus damage.
