Is there a setting I can use to change the background colors or is that part of the site's theme? The black looks ok for the forum listing, but if you go into your Inbox and PMs it makes everything white and almost impossible to read

It's not intentional. Gar is having trouble with the site at the moment and is working on getting it fixed.
